'Botched': Woman thinks she has a 'tumor' and Dr. Paul Nassif fixes it!
In this week's episode of 'Botched', Dr. Paul Nassif and Dr. Terry Dubrow come across a case that is assumed to be unsolved by many doctors. Gisela decided to turn to Nassif and Dubrow after she realized that her nose job has resulted in an unexplained growth.
Gisela always thought that her nose was bigger than usual and she decided to undergo the knife to get a perfect shape. However, it did not go as planned. Gisela decided to try her luck for the second time and while she was happy with the results, things took a different turn as she realized a growth at the tip of her nose.
After consulting several doctors, one of them told Gisela that she may have "a reportable case". She further revealed that she could feel pain whenever she touched the tip of her nose. Nassif was not thrilled to hear that as he said, "When I hear the history of a patient developing pain years after surgery, I'm thinking is it an infection? Some inflammatory process? Or, is it a tumor underneath the skin?"
Meanwhile, Dubrow added, "No one likes to hear, 'I don't know' or 'you may have a reportable case' from a doctor. Because, it potentially means you may have an undiagnosable, or even an untreatable, condition." Gisela tried hard to hold back her tears as she feared the thought of having a tumor and revealed that she has three daughters whom she wants to live for. Nassif decided to do surgery to find out what is going on with her nose but before that he assured her that it was not a tumor.
However, Nassif is left shocked after he discovered that Gisela's nose had decompressed immediately after they started the surgery. He soon realized that Gisela had developed puss in her nose because of prolene stitch. In a rare case, he further added that not many people are allergic to it. But he was happy that he could finally get to the bottom of the mystery and help Gisela with her nose.
