Another AL East vs NL East clash on the cards as the Boston Red Sox take on the Philadelphia Phillies. It's contrasting fortunes for both teams as the Red Sox are having a woeful season. The two sides will meet in a doubleheader and Boston will hope to register a couple of wins to make a move ahead. Here's a quick primer ahead of the game.

The match is slated to start at 4.05 pm ET on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Nothing much has gone right for the Red Sox this season. For starters, they're at the bottom of the AL East Table with 28 losses and a 6-11 away record. They lost the series against the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2. Prior to that, they were handed a 3-0 drubbing by the Atlanta Braves. Xander Bogaerts has been their go-to man and Martin Perez will start off the proceedings for Boston.

The Phillies are placed second on the NL East table. Their extra-innings win against the New York Mets was an encounter the Phillies fans would remember. Zach Eflin will be their starting pitcher, He comes into this clash with a 4.45 ERA and he's struck out 42 batters this season.
