Borat crashes GOP conference donning KKK robes claiming 'I'm Stephen Miller', served cease and desist notice
Sacha Baron Cohen has included a shocking scene in his new Borat film as his character is seen donning KKK robes while entering the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPac) run by the American Conservative Union (ACU) in February of this year. In the movie, which released on October 23, Borat (under the robe and hood) claimed that he was Donald Trump’s adviser Stephen Miller while making an attempt to “deliver” his daughter, named Tutar, to the president on behalf of former Kazakhstan’s president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, who wants to join a "strong man's club" of world leaders.
In the film released on Amazon Prime, Borat asks, “How would I slip into this conference of Republicans unnoticed? Suddenly, I had an idea.” After this, Borat is seen entering the property’s lobby in the clan robes while declaiming, “I’m Stephen Miller. Sorry I’m late.” The film also showed people staring at Cohen’s character as he entered a bathroom to don a fat suit to disguise himself as Trump. Borat also stated that he needed to find a way to meet Vice President Mike Pence so that he could give Tutar to him as he is “the only man that Trump would trust.”
The film then showed Pence being introduced to the convention held at National Harbor, Maryland, by Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the ACU. Addressing the crowd on Covid-19, the 61-year-old said: “As of today, we have 15 cases of coronavirus that have been detected in the United States, with only one new case detected in the last two weeks. While the risk to the American public remains low, as the president said yesterday, we’re ready. We’re ready for anything.” While Pence was saying that, Borat disguised as Trump interrupted and said from the crowd, “Michael Pen-is, Michael Pen-is, I brought the girl for you! Don’t worry, I won’t get jealous – she’s not Ivanka [Trump.]”
Soon after Borat’s comment, the crowd began to slam him as they shouted “get out”. “P***y on Pen-is. Mike! Help me! Mike! You’re fired!” he yelled while guards responded to get him out of the property. The movie then focuses on the crowd, who shout "four more years", to which Borat, still dressed as Trump, responds: “Four more years! 100 more years! If you release me, I’ll give you my Klan robes.” The next scene of the film showed Borat sending a letter, explaining he has “unfortunate news.” “Michael Pence did not accept [Tutar] as a gift,” it read.
Meanwhile, The Washington Times reported that the ACU’s attorneys have threatened legal action against Cohen. A letter sent to the comedian stated, “Any implication that KKK style hatred would be welcome at CPAC is false and malicious. We demand that you immediately cease and desist from using any content filmed during CPAC in 'Borat 2' and its trailer. Should you not make these modifications to Borat 2, we will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies.” It added: “While the Borat team, the Fake Klansman, the Democrat party and your associates may find to be funny the trivialization [of] racist and anti-Semitic hatred, conservatives do not think this is a laughing matter.”
