'Bombshell' starring Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie might have received mixed reviews after its limited release December 13 but the film has made a mark when it comes to the performances of the cast.

Kidman and Theron portrayed real-life characters Gretchen Carlson and Megyn Kelly respectively, but Robbie's character was a fictional one. Kayla Pospisil (Robbie), describes herself as a “evangelical millennial” and she is determined to rise to the top rung at the conservative media empire Fox News headed by Roger Ailes.

The ugliness of the real-life scandal surrounding Roger Ailes and how he sexually harassed women who worked with him is the crux of the film and Kayla is used to stress how ugly it would get for ambitious women who worked with Ailes. Robbie, who played the character has done a brilliant job, especially the scenes that she shares with John Lithgow who plays Ailes in the movie.

It is her performance in this film, and before that, in Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', that shows how Robbie has had one her career-best years with 2019. In 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', Robbie portrayed Sharon Tate, an actor who was killed by Charles Manson's followers in the 80s.

The film sees Robbie speak too little or not at all, but her performance goes beyond words. Despite not having dialogues -- many critics cited that it was a problem; it made Robbie's role less substantial than what it would have been if she had dialogues -- her portrayal of Tate was brilliant.

Let's take for instance the scene where Tate was attending a party at the Playboy Mansion. She doesn't speak. It is just her dancing. This one scene sharply portrays Tate’s optimism and spirit more than any words possibly could have.

This is just one of Robbie's many best moments throughout her career. The others include her performance in 'I, Tonya', which fetched her an Oscar nomination. Also, who can forget her role in 'The Wolf of Wall Street'.

We also saw rushes of Robbie in her upcoming film 'Birds of Prey' in the form of teasers and trailers. The movie will see Robbie continue to portray the role of Harley Quinn.

This outing spoke volumes regarding Robbie's performance when she first portrayed the character in 2016 in the film 'Suicide Squad'. As Harley Quinn opposite Jared Leto's Joker, Robbie impressed audiences and fans now await her next outing as Harley Quinn in 'Birds of Prey'.

In this film, Robbie's Harley Quinn has left Joker and will be seen joining hands with Black Canary to fight a narcissistic crime lord Black Mask in Gotham City. To see her step back into the shoes of a character that received global admiration is exciting.

2019 also happens to be the year when 'Suicide Squad 2' finally moved ahead from the pre-production stages. One of the main reasons being the timely hire of director James Gunn. Now the film is two-thirds complete, and we will get to see Robbie continue to portray Harley Quinn.
