How did Bobby Brown Jr die? Bobby Brown and Kim Ward's son dead at 28, Internet says 'rest in sweet peace'

Bobby Brown and Kim Ward’s son, Bobby Brown Jr, died at the age of 28 on Wednesday, November 18. The news was broken by TMZ who reported that while police are still at Brown’s LA-area home, foul play is not suspected. No official cause of death has been revealed yet.  

Brown and Kim Ward had known since they were children and had an 11-year off-and-on relationship. Ward gave birth to Brown Jr (the second of her two children with Brown) less than a year before Brown and Whitney Houston had their daughter Bobbi Kristina. In a 2006 interview with Boston Magazine, Ward claimed that Houston never warmed to the boy and preferred that Bobby spend time with Brown and Ward’s older child, La’Princia, saying "[Houston] has a problem with little Bobby."

Ward and Brown’s relationship was filled with tension even before the deaths of Houston and Bobbi Kristina. In 2007, Brown was jailed over delinquent child-support payments to Ward and was eventually freed when a DC-area radio station paid his debt. Three days after Bobbi Kristina's death in 2015, Bobby Jr, also an aspiring musician, spoke out on Twitter about people who flocked to follow him. He tweeted, "People really don’t give a f**k about you unless you’re relevant and they don’t love you till you’re famous or gone. I don’t want these follows. Your follows ain’t gonna fill the hole in my heart, and y'all gon unfollow me once you stop caring." The tweet has since been deleted.

Social media users was flooded with condolences after the sudden death of Brown Jr. One user wrote, "Damn man Bobby Brown lost his brother in law right in front of him, his parents within MONTHS of each other, his ex-wife Whitney Houston & their daughter Bobbi Kristina & now his son Bobby Jr. Lord wrap your arms around him!" while another wrote, "I can’t fathom losing two children and a soul mate. RIP Bobby Brown JR. All positive everything to Bobby Brown." A different user commented, "Awwwwwwwww hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bobby Brown's son is now dead too? Like his daughter dying some time ago wasn't enough? Awww that sucks. Bobby Brown Jr. R.I.P," while another tweeted, "I have no words. Rest in sweet peace, Bobby Brown Jr."
