It has been an emotional ride so far. Fans of Netflix's 'BoJack Horseman' had waited a long, very long time for any update of the next season of their favorite adult animated show. And just when they were starting to feel restless, the streaming service released an overwhelming trailer for its sixth and final season.

It looks like Season 6 will take the story forward from the end of Season 5, where BoJack was waiting outside a rehab facility along with Diane (Alison Brie). The trailer for Season 6 begins with the eponymous star writing a letter to Diane, narrating how his life has been since joining rehab. He tells her about life in rehab, why he is required to write a letter, and how his life has changed for the better since making the decision to finally join rehab.

The entire crux of the trailer can be encapsulated in one sentence that BoJack says: "I wasted so many years being miserable because I assumed that was the only way to be. I don't want to do that anymore."

With this, the series drives home the point it has strived to make these past five years - that if you're feeling sad, you don't have to. Things will only change for the better if you take steps towards making them better. Through the last few seasons - especially in Season 5 - Diane had iterated and reiterated this very point to BoJack several times. She kept pointing out to BoJack that he can't make bad decisions, treat others badly and then blame them on his past - he is what he is because he chose to be that way. Life also brings him to a point where the road ahead is foggy if he doesn't choose to do anything about it.

Although this trailer came with some bad news - that was later confirmed by actor Aaron Paul (who voices Todd) who said that it was actually Netflix that axed the show - fans have embraced it for what it is: the final season.

Created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg and starring Will Arnett, Amy Sedaris, Aaron Paul, Alison Brie and Paul F Tompkins in the lead roles, season 6 of 'BoJack Horseman' will be released on Netflix in two parts - part 1 releasing on October 25.
