BMW is all set to roll out the 4 Series Coupé. Defined as the next chapter in a coupé tradition, the latest version will start market launch this October. The 4 series is a stark contrast of the coupé from the new BMW 3 Series. According to a statement by the company, sales will start with five variants— the BMW M440i xDrive Coupé (fuel consumption combined 7.1 – 6.8 l/100 km [39.8 – 41.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 163 – 155 g/km) makes its debut at the top of the range.

In addition, the range of releases also includes two six-cylinder in-line diesel engines that will join the line-up in March 2021. The new Coupé is as lot more sharper-looking than its predecessor with the body structure and the chassis technology designed to bring out maximum performance. The rear-axle track is 23mm wider than the Series 3 Sedan and the center of gravity is 21 mm lower. The car also boasts of well-balanced weight distribution.

The Series 4 Coupe encompasses the Mild hybrid technology for the six-cylinder in-line-petrol engine and all diesel engines to optimize efficiency. 48V starter-generator boosts the combustion engine with an extra 8 kW/11 hp. All diesel engines now have two-stage turbocharging.

The engines also are also driven through an eight-speed Steptronic transmission. The M Sport cars also come in with a sport box (Please note: It is optional for other models). This also brings a new driving mode called Sprint and launch control.  The most prominent is the vertical BMW kidney grille follows the tradition of legendary BMW coupé. The elegance for the mean machine comes in the form of a flowing roofline and stretched side window graphic.

As far as the tech goes, cloud-based BMW maps navigation comes as an inclusion. Standard smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, WiFi, and remote software upgrade enable over-the-air integration of improved vehicle functions and new digital services into the car. 

BMW OS 7 also enables the user to create personalized screens on the control display and instrument cluster.  Adding to the standard-issue is the Park Distance Control with rear sensors and optional parking assistant. The release also added that BMW Drive Recorder creates video up to 40 seconds in length of the car’s surroundings.

The model variants are BMW 420i Coupé, BMW 430i Coupé, BMW M440i xDrive Coupé, BMW 420d Coupé, BMW 420d xDrive Coupé, BMW 430d xDrive Coupé and BMW M440d xDrive Coupé  (Available from 2021).
