The biggest secret is out in ‘Blue Bloods’ as Joe Hill’s (Will Hochman) lineage as a member of the Reagan family goes public. At the end of Season 10, we found out that Joe was the unknown illegitimate son of Paula and Joe Sr. The family had no clue about him. Joe Sr was killed by corrupt cops before the show's story began, and hence, the Reagan family only found out about him accidentally.

Thankfully, even Joe did not want this to come out. Joe came up to Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) later to tell him that he did not want to be NYPD’s poster boy. Journalists had started digging into his background and it would seem that he did not want his Reagan connection to come out at all. But in the last episode — titled ‘In the Name of the Father’ — a journalist found Joe's birth certificate and the news was going to be out, later that night.

‘Blue Bloods’ Episode 2 Recap

In the second episode, Frank knew the secret was going to be out sooner or later and handled it all in his usual diplomatic manner. Paula went to meet Frank, saying, “Sorry to show up unannounced. I'm sure I'm breaking all kinds of protocols,” and he replied, “You're family. Protocols don't apply to family.” He insisted Paula and Joe both come to the Sunday family dinner and the family welcomed her with open arms.

As for Joe himself, so far, he seems like a quiet guy who just wishes to do his job. In the episode, he went to talk to Frank about the entire scenario and told him he doesn't want to be in the spotlight. Even though he hoped their relationship would remain a secret, Frank got a phone call during the dinner and it was clear that his identity will soon be revealed to everyone. What will happen after that shocking cliffhanger?

‘Blue Bloods’ Episode 3 Predictions

Titled ‘Atonement’, the official summary of the episode reads: “When Joe Hill’s lineage as a Reagan is revealed, Frank struggles from a distance when his grandson wants to fight his own battles. Also, when Erin and Anthony receive gift-wrapped evidence, they carefully weigh their options to either take down a long-time mafia leader or stifle an ambitious mob up-and-comer. Also, Danny’s opposition to authority clashes with Jamie’s adherence to the rules, as both brothers work to solve a murder.”

Fans can't wait to know what will happen and are wondering if Joe's mom will feel comfortable in the family. “Episode 2 was excellent for many reasons. Also, I hope that Joe Hill and his mom can eventually feel comfortable as a part of the Reagan family,” one tweet read and another said, “Joe will step up and carry the Reagan mantle. He has to, literally in his DNA. Mrs Hill will protest at first but then consent and give respect. The question is, will Baez make a return to the table? And how does the ADA bounce back?” A third added, “I was wondering if they are heading to a Danny Baez relationship.”
