'Bless This Mess' star JT Neal reveals how season 2 is going to be all about settling into rural life

In an exclusive interview with MEAWW JT Neal revealed what fans can expect from the forthcoming finale and season 2.

'Bless This Mess' might have recently premiered on ABC, but the series is already coming to an end with season 1. However, we won't miss them for too long since ABC has renewed the comedy series for season 2. While nothing has been revealed about a definite release date, we could expect it to premiere around the same time in 2020.

'Bless This Mess' revolves around Mike and Rio (played by Dax Shepard and Bell), a married couple from New York. After they inherit a farmhouse from Mike's dead aunt, the couple leaves the hustle and bustle of city life and move to Nebraska.  Apart from Bell and Shepard, the cast also includes a welcoming neighboring family who has a son called Jacob. The role of Jacob is played by JT Neal. In an exclusive interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), JT Neal revealed what fans can expect from the forthcoming finale and season 2.

Talking about the upcoming finale for season 1, Neal said, "I think the finale has a lot of wonderful moments in it. It’s a very special episode where we start to understand the struggles that all these characters that we’ve introduced are going through. It really ties everything from the pilot in and it definitely leaves a lot of storylines open for season 2!"

It was recently revealed that Rita Moreno from Netflix's 'One Day at a Time' will appear in season 1 finale, so we asked Neal if we will get to see more of Moreno in season 2, he said, "I hope so! I never got to meet her while she was working so I hope I get another chance! Her character really stirs things up a bit so it would be fun to see how that evolves moving forward."

So what can we expect from Neal's character when 'Bless This Mess' returns? "The way season one ends sets Jacob and the Bowmans up for a really interesting arc. I can’t give too much away, but I think it will be interesting to see how much we actually need Mike and Rio, despite all the trouble we gave them in season one," he explained.

So will we be seeing any plot twists? Neal says, "I think we’re going to see Mike and Rio start to assimilate to rural life and become more comfortable with their places in the community. We end season one on a very triumphant note and I’m excited to see it carry into next season!"

Apart from that Neal also revealed that they have not just begun shooting for season 2. "We just found out a few days ago that we got picked up so we still have some time before we go back."

'Bless This Mess' airs every Tuesday on ABC. Check your local listings for more information.
