Why are Blake Shelton and Gavin Rossdale feuding? Gwen Stefani's kids at center of storm
It appears all is not well with Gwen Stefani's current husband Blake Shelton and ex Gavin Rossdale. According to a new report, the two are butting heads over Shelton's handling of Rossdale's three sons. Things appear to have reached quite a tumultuous point, so much so that Gavin told Stefani to tell Shelton, "Cool it with the public lovefest."
In September 2018, Stefani and Rossdale ended up in court over custody of their three children. It appears they managed to sort it out eventually, leading to Stefani marrying Shelton in a secret ceremony at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch. Their marriage in 2021 came after reports in 2020 the couple was planning on having kids of their own, possibly via surrogacy. So far though, it seems like those plans haven't come to fruition.

If you were wondering why perhaps it has something to do with the complex dynamics of the family. Right now, Rossdale and Stefani are co-parenting Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. That means the three are receiving the attention of two dads, an arrangement that it appears Rossdale no longer wants.
Why are Rossdale and Shelton feuding?
Life & Style reported on the duo's feud, noting that Rossdale isn't thrilled about Shelton's public gushing about the three kids. "Gavin told Gwen to pass along a message to Blake: Cool it with the public lovefest," an insider said, adding, "He thinks it’s weird. If the shoe were on the other foot and they were Blake’s children, he wouldn’t like it either." According to the insider, Rossdale thinks "Blake is crossing a line."
It appears the tension isn't just behind-the-scenes. "The kids sense a pull... They try their best to give Gavin a lot of attention, but they also like having Blake around rooting them on," the insider added. However, these reports are best taken with a pinch of salt for now. As News Colony reported, Life & Style doesn't exactly have a great track record when it comes to reporting on Stefani's complex family. In 2020, the magazine claimed that Stefani and Shelton secretly got married, which turned out to be false. The two tied the knot only on July 3, 2021.
However, it should also be noted that things don't seem to be picture-perfect with the trio. In February 2022, the three attended a baseball game for one of the kids, with Stefani and Shelton keeping their distance from Rossdale. Earlier, in July 2021, Hollywood Life reported that "Gavin and Gwen don’t have a relationship except with the kids. They do not communicate often and it’s as minimal as possible." Reportedly, the former lovers "don't get along" anymore.
Given that, it's certainly possible Rossdale and Shelton could be at loggerheads, but it's not clear if that's exactly the case. If Rossdale and Stefani don't indeed communicate, then Life & Style's source could be wrong, but again, that's an assumption we have to make. Whatever the truth is, it certainly is hidden and hard to reach.
