'Black Widow' 1st trailer features action-packed Natasha Romanova, Yelena Belova confrontation, Clint Barton suspected as Taskmaster

In the trailer we see the Taskmaster completely covered up in his suit, drawing an arrow on a bow and we hear Romanoff say, "One thing's for sure. It is going to be a hell of a reunion." Fans have already started to wonder if Clint Barton could be the Taskmaster given the bow and arrow

Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) is done running from her past, and 'Black Widow', the first stand-alone movie that will be led by Romanoff will portray how she plans on confronting the people from her past. Especially one Ms. Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), who happens to be Romanoff's nemesis.

The trailer opens with Romanoff looking at herself in the mirror, her voice in the background recalls, "I used to have nothing. Then I got this job, this family; but nothing lasts forever." The film is set after the Civil War, confirmed Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president, at the SDCC 2019.

Romanoff sacrificed herself so she could help Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) get the soul stone in 'Avengers: Endgame' and her death will remain unchanged. What we will see is a bit of Romanoff's past. Her life while training to become a Russian spy, her connection to ballet and even the time she began using guns. All of this will possibly be portrayed as a flashback if we were to go by the first official trailer.

Then we hear a dialogue between Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt) and Romanoff that goes, "Heard you had to leave in a hurry." To this, Romanoff responds, "It's never easy these days." When asked what she is going to do, she says, "I have lived a lot of lives but I am done running from my past."

At this moment, we see Romanoff walk into a room and another voice, that of Belova, calls out, "I know you are out there." Romanoff responds, "I know you know I am out here so we gonna talk like grown-ups?"

Then we see Romanoff and Belova come face to face and it is a great intro scene for their confrontation. You can see how this scene picks on all the differences between Romanoff and Belova, to indicate they are different, but they are also the same.

Essentially, both of them were trained by the same underground black-ops team. The fact that Romanoff and Belova will essentially work together, will only bring nuanced dynamics between the two -- the fight sequence between the two of them is absolutely brilliant.

Romanoff claims, "We have unfinished business. We have to go back to where it all started." We then see the Taskmaster completely covered up in his suit, drawing an arrow on the bow and we hear Romanoff say, "One thing's for sure. It is going to be a hell of a reunion."

Belova and Romanoff fighting together to bring the Taskmaster down? We can't wait to see how the two will face up to the Taskmaster! Fans have already started to wonder if Clint Barton could be the Taskmaster, seeing as a bow and arrow is involved. Especially since the filmmakers have kept the casting for the Taskmaster under wraps, there is a lot of interest surrounding who is underneath the helmet.

The trailer also introduces David Harbour as the Red Guardian in his suit. He is also happy to see Romanoff Belova and Melina (Rachel Weisz). Before sitting down with them, he quips about his suit, "Still fits." Then he says, "Still a family, back together again. What he hears instead is 'You got fat!'" and that comes from Melina. The Red Guardian also faces the Taskmaster.

The trailer not only impresses with an interesting peek into the film but also a good background score. The scene of a woman walking in the dark transitioning into the title of the film was the cherry on the cake.

'Black Widow' is slated to release in May 2020.
