Following the reasonable success it achieved for portraying drama, gossips and some live action from the tattoo studio, VH1’s reality show ‘Black Ink Crew’ is returning with a new installment. The sixth season of the tattoo-based reality show that deals with the lives of the artists and day-to-day events from 9Mag, will be featuring a new set of participants in the upcoming series. Release date

‘Black Ink Crew: Chicago’ Season 6 will return from its mid-season break on July 6, Monday, on VH1.

Plot

The sixth season of ‘Black Ink Crew: Chicago’ will see Ryan Henry face a bit of a trouble in his business at 9Mag, when the studio’s former tattoo artist Charmaine, who got laid off in the last season, opens her own female-run shop in the Windy City. Charmaine will be seen collaborating with the globally established tattoo artist Jessica Simpson.

But competing with the new studio isn’t the only problem Ryan will be seen facing in the upcoming season. After using his profession as a distraction from his sister’s death, Ryan will finally be seen considering therapy to battle his mental issues. Ryan's fellow tattoo artist and friend Phor ensures his mental health receives the right care.

Ryan Henry

Ryan Henry (VH1)

Ryan Henry is the owner of the tattoo shop 9Mag. He started his studio in honor of his sister Nova and his 10-month-old niece Ava, who were murdered by Nova’s ex-boyfriend.

Charmaine Johnise

Charmaine Johnise (VH1)

Charmaine Johnise worked as a manager at Ryan Henry’s studio 9 Mag, until she got fired last year. She rose to fame through Instagram, which has garnered her over 650,000 followers.

Phor Everim

Phor Everim also works as a tattoo artist at the 9Mag tattoo studio. He has also released a few hip-hop albums titled Lightning Bug and Sacrifice.

Creators/Showrunners

Corey Noll has directed the series. While Chris Engelmann and David Wolfgang have served as the co-executive producers, ‘Black Ink Crew: Chicago’ has been produced by Michael Nitollo.
