Don thinks Phor is setting himself up for bigger troubles and therefore he needs to do a DNA test before taking this relationship any further

In this week's 'Black Ink Crew: Chicago' we see Phor making a genuine effort to be there for his alleged daughter Iyanah. They went to a nail salon to get a fancy pedicure done and, of course, chatted a bit to get to know each other.

This was a premature move because she may or may not be her daughter and to set such expectations for someone who could be a total stranger can work against him. Phor has, however, been working on his impulses lately. In his defense, he was just there to be for her and support her in any way he can because he completely understands what it means for someone to grow up not knowing who or where his/her dad is.

Don, on the other hand, is not one bit pleased about Phor going that route. He thinks Phor is setting himself up for bigger troubles, emotionally, and therefore, the next thing he needs to do is get a DNA test done because that's the only way to be sure of what the future holds for them. Otherwise, it's all as good as playing with people's emotions.

How it all began?

A couple of weeks ago, after a stranger messaged him on Instagram claiming that he had sex with her sister and they have a 17-year-old daughter together, Phor readily agreed to meet with the mother. Even though Ryan and Don suggested he get a DNA test done before making such a huge commitment, he stayed rigid with his decision.

The meeting was an interesting one, mainly because Phor remembered Jeremy from the photo the mother showed him. However, Phor cannot remember the time they had sex in a closet with garbage bags around. He repeatedly said that memories from almost two decades ago are blurry to him but he is not denying the claims completely.

This was when he met Iyanah and had a freewheeling chat with her, asking her about her interests and hobbies. They got off to a good start and ever since, Phor has been positive about his connection with his alleged daughter.

Meanwhile, unlike Don, fans are supporting Phor in what he has been doing lately. Even though they think a DNA test is in the order, it's amazing how he has been stepping up for a little girl, whom he may or may not call his own. It's a sweet gesture.

"I commend Phor for trying to step up and be there for a child that he doesn't even know is his or not. But if it's not, I hope he still at least continue to be there for her just as a friend and a male figure. The bond they are forming would be for nothing if not. #BlackInkCHI," a fan wrote.

Another fan posted: "I understand where Phor is coming from. He don't want the girl to grow up not knowing her dad and the situation end up somewhat like his. I understand where Don is coming from too. He don't want his brother & the girl to get their hopes just in case she’s not his. #BlackInkCHI."

"Thank you Don!! I love Phor’s intentions but you need to know for sure before you hurt yourself and that girl in the process #BlackInkChi," a viewer shared.
