Six weeks ago, Season 5 of the financial drama 'Billions' was set to premiere. A lot of theories were put forth, there was a sense of urgency that constantly tugged the audience, there were new character introductions that were debated upon, and then the season finally hit the ground up and running on May 3. The fifth installment may not have hit the stratosphere in terms of ratings, at least not yet. Seasons 3 and 4 averaged 93% and 97% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes and now Season 5 is still holding steady with 86%.

'Billions' will air its mid-season finale this Sunday and a riveting finish would be on its mind to get the ratings cross the coveted 90s mark. Not that the season's been bad, it has just been on a different plane this time around and the Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) war has only become a lot more personal. Both heavyweights haven't pulled their punches and that's taken center stage again, although there have been new plot points in the form of new relationships and old foes returning.

The mid-season finale titled, 'The Limitless S**t' sees the return of Corey Stoll's Michael Prince and in a move that fans didn't see coming, there seems to be a suggestion to get Mike and Axe working together. Well, we know how that will go, but that said, it was a twist the world didn't expect. Those familiar with Axe's psyche would know he would rather sell off Axe Cap than work with the man who has managed to be a constant thorn in his side since the pilot episode.

The last couple of episodes saw Chuck battle some personal issues. Rhoades Sr (Jeffrey DeMunn) was diagnosed with renal failure, Wendy  (Maggie Siff) seemed to be getting along without him just fine and his relationship with Cat Brant (Julianna Margulies) was off to a pure physical start before a bit of a snafu. Add to that his failed attempt to catch Axe for tax fraud. The promo of the episode sees him attempt to go after Todd Krakow, Secretary of the Treasury in his bid to pull Axe down.

Meanwhile, there is also Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon) making an attempt to take charge of things with Taylor Mason Carbon. From the promo, it seems that Lauren suggests enlisting Prince's help and this is definitely something that would go make Axe go "Dang It! Blast it! And Ouch". It hasn't been long since Mike and Chuck had a plan to get the better of Axe, and this move will be something Axe would be fully wary of.  The series has always retained the unpredictability factor and this is only heightened in 'The Limitless S**t'. The official synopsis reads: "Axe makes big moves with an unconventional source of inspiration; Chuck goes to desperate lengths for family; tensions rise in Wendy's difficult relationships; Chuck and Sacker manipulate a past friend; Taylor steps up and takes charge."

'Billions' Season 5 Midseason Finale airs June 14, Sunday 9 pm ET on Showtime.
