'Billions' Season 5 Episode 6: Why is Bobby stalking Wendy, will his jealousy get Tanner in trouble?

If you are stuck on Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) and Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff), the latest episode of 'Billions' has hit it out of the ballpark. 'The Nordic Model' begins with a 'Titanic'-like-scene between Wendy and her new lover, Nico Tanner (Frank Grillo) where he paints her sleeping in between crumpled blankets.
Bobby unknowingly lays his eyes on that private portrait and gets fidgety. His first question is to his beloved right-hand man, Mike 'Wags' Wagner (David Costabile), if he knew about Wendy and "the artist". When Wags offers to take care of the painter for Bobby so that he can focus on the bank, Bobby says he will look after both. The man has a plan and that's where Todd Krakow (Danny Strong) comes into the picture. Bobby asks Todd to get a portrait of himself made by Tanner. He also lets Tanner know that he knows about the private piece of art. Quivering at the thought, Tanner knows harm is in the way. But the most astonishing bit of the whole episode is how Bobby eyes them both like a vulture and calls Wendy immediately as she steps out to invite her and Tanner for dinner. It makes Wendy flinch and wonder if he's somewhere around but she gives a greenlight.
What will happen when Wendy and Tanner go for dinner with Bobby? Will he use his tactics to separate the two? Why is he so hellbent on knowing every detail about Wendy's private moments with Tanner? Why is he jealous? Oh gosh — is he in love?
Shuddering at the thought, fans can't stop wondering what will happen and why Bobby did what he did. "Axe set up a security camera in front of Tanner’s place and spent the whole night waiting for Wendy to leave his place. This man is psychotic and in love all at once!" one tweet read. "Is Axe in love with Wendy??" one fan posted, and another wrote, "Bobby Axelrod is so jealous of Tanner and Wendy." One even went on to ask: "Have Wendy and Bobby ever slept together?"
Joking about the entire sequence, one posted a meme saying, "LIVE LOOK at #BobbyAxlerod spying on Wendy HaHa @SHO_Billions #Billions." Another said, "Axe is really stalking Wendy wow." But one fan had the right question: "Ok I'm confused. Does Axe want Wendy in a romantic way or he just doesn't want to see her with another man? This clearly isn't just about work. Who else picked up Axe's unease?"
Many feel they'll be a couple by the end of the season. "Axe becomes jealous to see Wendy with another man in episode 6, it's so good I've been waiting since season 1 for him to form a couple I hope it will be done by the end of the season #Billions," one tweet read. Another said, "OMG Axe is f***ed and wants to play it cool. The relationship between Wendy & the artist reminds me of Claire Underwood & the photographer." Some, however, don't want them together. "I never want to see a Wendy and Axe intimate relationship," one fan said.
Well, only time will tell if the two do end up together as romantic partners and whether that goes well for both or not. But one thing is for sure, Tanner's future might be in trouble if Bobby's jealousy increases with time.
