'Russian disinformation': Biden under pressure as Bill Barr accuses him of LYING about Hunter's emails

"I was very disturbed during the debate when candidate Biden lied to the American people about the laptop," Barr remarked

Former US Attorney General Bill Barr accused President Biden of having "lied to the American people" at a presidential debate when he termed the Post's exposure of his son Hunter Biden's emails "a Russian plant."

"I was very disturbed during the debate when candidate Biden lied to the American people about the laptop," Barr remarked on Fox News. He added, "He’s squarely confronted with the laptop, and he suggested that it was Russian disinformation and pointed to the letter written by some intelligence people that was baseless — which he knew was a lie. And I was shocked by that."

The comments from Barr, who recently published 'One Damn Thing After Another,' a tell-all memoir critical of former President Donald Trump, came after the New York Times reported last week that the emails obtained by the newspaper had been verified by sources familiar with them and the federal investigation into Hunter Biden's taxes.

The New York Times and other news organizations have previously slammed The Washington Post's exclusive reporting on the emails, claiming that the information had not been independently validated. During the debate on October 22, 2020, Trump said the emails proved Biden was a "corrupt politician" and referred to his son's computer as "the laptop from hell."

"There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he's accusing me of is a Russian plant," Biden answered. "They have said that this has all the characteristics — four, five former heads of the CIA, both parties — say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage."

Many people expressed their thoughts on Twitter, with one of them writing: "Why won’t biden answer for he non stop lying about hunters business overseas? Why won’t media ask him? Corruption emails expose Biden for lying n son selling out America m access for millions from Russia, China, n Ukraine n shows Biden not only knew but was involved n media lied."

Another user wrote, "Hunter Biden crack, underage girls laptops, Joe Biden receiving $$ from energy companies in foreign countries. Hillary Clinton Steele dossier 30k emails broke federal laws lied to our government. Why ignoring recent crimes by Democrats to investigate a Republican 20-30yrs ago?"

Tim Murtaugh, who has been described as "a slim and serious political veteran" by Mike Bender, also wrote a tweet that read, "They knew the laptop was real the whole time and outright lied about it being 'Russian disinformation.' And the media played along with them. The laptop contains emails that directly link Joe Biden to Hunter Biden’s influence peddling. Now they clam up."
