President Joe Biden has received heavy criticisms after he failed to make a public address after Russia launched an attack on Ukraine. The POTUS, however, did issue a statement criticizing Russia’s “unprovoked and unjustified attack” on Ukraine. In the statement issued by The White House, Biden said, “President Zelenskyy reached out to me tonight and we just finished speaking. I condemned this unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces.”

“I briefed him on the steps we are taking to rally international condemnation, including tonight at the United Nations Security Council. He asked me to call on the leaders of the world to speak out clearly against President Putin’s flagrant aggression, and to stand with the people of Ukraine. Tomorrow, I will be meeting with the Leaders of the G7, and the United States and our Allies and partners will be imposing severe sanctions on Russia. We will continue to provide support and assistance to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” he added.

On February 22, the US leader had also tweeted that he’s “signed an Executive Order to deny Russia the chance to profit from its blatant violations of international law. We are continuing to closely consult with Allies and partners, including Ukraine, on next steps.”

But Biden and his government have been slammed for their muted response to Russia bombing Ukraine from three sides – the south, east, and north – taking lives of at least 40 people. The US has only been able to sanction five Russian figures in Vladimir Putin's inner circle and striking out at only two Russian financial institutions – VTB and Russia's military bank. Lambasting the efforts taken by the Democratic leader, Senator Ted Cruz reportedly called the sanctions as “appeasement that only increases the chances of military conflict.”

Nikki Haley, the former US Ambassador to the UN, also condemned Biden’s slow approach and said as reported by The Daily Mail, “President Biden promised a ‘swift and severe’ response. He did not deliver. Ukraine is a test of western resolve. It’s not just about Putin. The Chinese communists and Iranian jihadists are watching too. It’s a major leadership moment for Biden. So far, he’s failing.”

In a tweet, she added: “Vladimir Putin is on the verge of recreating the Russian Empire, if not the Soviet Union. It wasn’t so long ago that the leader of the free world prevented that from happening. Today, under Biden, our weakness is teasing Russian aggression.”

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton accused Biden of letting Putin win. He told MSNBC: “I think Putin was undoubtedly waiting for a second Trump term, but he's getting effectively almost what he would have expected then. This is going to be a victory for Russia.”

Meanwhile, a lot of people have also expressed their frustration over Biden’s efforts. A user tweeted, “Biden is like my grandpa. This dude probably woke up today and forgot there was a invasion.” Another user said, “He is incapable of more than one coherent message a week. Kamala is to stupid.” A tweet read: “@POTUS is sick. He has no geopolitical vision. First he let the Afghans down, now by declaring that US won't interfere in Russia-Ukraine tension,he slammed the last nail in the coffin himself. He has no more IQ than RG. So let Russia secure it's borders even if they break rules.”
