The Delaware State University has denied that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has ever been a student there. The revelation comes after Biden claimed that he "got started" at the historically Black college. Biden, 77, had made the claim when he was praising historically Black colleges and universities during a town hall event last October before the South Carolina Democratic primary, a video uploaded to YouTube shows.

"I got started out of a HBCU, Delaware State," Biden said while addressing the students at Wilson High School in Florence. "Now, I don’t want to hear anything negative about Delaware State. They’re my folks." The Wilson High School had been founded in 1866 by the Freedmen's Bureau for Black children seeking an education.

However, Biden's claims were refuted by the university that said that he had only been a commencement speaker there decades after he started politics. The college's director of news service, Carlos Holmes, told The Washington Times, "Vice President Biden did not attend DSU." He added, "However he was the Commencement keynote speaker in 2003 and [2016], and during the former he was awarded an honorary doctoral degree."

Soon after the news broke, many social media users slammed Biden and called him a "liar." One user shared, "Anyone that can lie about the college they went to will lie about anything and everything. What a lying fraud he is. Unfortunately, this is normal for him." Another wrote, "Nothing against the University of Delaware. Hope it didn't sound like it. Great school. Just making the point that all that stuff he said about his educational accomplishments, which he dreamed up, was something he couldn't even get from the school he imagined attending."

"Biden was laughed out of the presidential race decades ago for plagiarism. Nothing has changed. He's now claiming someone else's education history. He still doesn't know what he's doing," wrote another user. Yet another social media user commented on the news and shared, "If you lied on your job application you would be fired, yet somehow Biden is allowed to apply for the highest job in the land and will have zero consequences for this blatant violation." An outraged social media user took to Twitter to say, "I’m starting to doubt Joe even attended college at this point. His many many lies about his education are very disturbing. His 'I could care less' attitude about all of his lies make him a dispicable human."

DSU is located around 40 miles south of the University of Delaware where Biden graduated in 1965 with a double major in political science and history. Biden went on to study at the Syracuse University College of Law where he had failed a class after being accused of plagiarism, reports NY Post.

We had earlier reported that President Donald Trump wants Biden to take a drug test before or after they debate on Tuesday, September 29. Trump had taken to Twitter to share, "I will be strongly demanding a Drug Test of Sleepy Joe Biden prior to, or after, the Debate on Tuesday night. Naturally, I will agree to take one also. His Debate performances have been record setting UNEVEN, to put it mildly. Only drugs could have caused this discrepancy???"

Trump and Biden will be participating in three in-person debates ahead of the November election, the first one will be moderated by Fox News' Chris Wallace, and it will take place on September 29 in Cleveland, Ohio.
