Biden calls Kamala Harris 'president' again but this time Internet isn't sure it's a gaffe
WASHINGTON, DC: A flurry of speculations sparked after President Biden again referred to his vice president Kamala Harris as 'president' and bungled the pronunciation of her name.
The 80-year-old POTUS’ fumble came on Monday, November 13 when he welcomed the Stanley Cup winners Las Vegas Gold Knights to the White House, according to Daily Mail.
“Welcome to the White House, the 2023 Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights!” he said, adding “President Harris is here to make sure we do this the right way.”
With a cheerful demeanor, Biden cracked many jokes at the Golden Knights event and accepted a golden hockey stick from the winning team, which he brandished in front of the spectators.

He noted that Vegas has had a series of championships lately, including their women's basketball team, which won back-to-back WNBA titles.
Then he moved to football, urging them to see if their club, the Vegas Raiders, could not defeat his wife Jill Biden's home team, the Philadelphia Eagles. “Just don't take the Eagles,” he said, adding “because I'll get divorced if that happens. I married a Philly girl.”
President previously called Harris 'President'
This is not the first time Biden has mistakenly called Harris the 'president.' Over the past two years, he has often ceded his position to his second-in-command.
In January, he discussed how 'President Harris' had been leading the effort on immigration. He repeated the same mistake while wishing her a happy birthday during a White House event.
"Happy Birthday to a great president, we know your mom is always with you," Biden said in October. He called her "President Harris" during remarks in South Carolina in December 2021, and did so at another event earlier that year in January.
He also made the error of referring to Harris as the "first lady" in remarks made to reporters in March 2022. As the 2024 race draws near, Biden's propensity for blunders has come under intense scrutiny.
While acknowledging that his age is a real concern, President Biden has defended his capacity to lead the nation. “I think it's a legitimate thing to be concerned about, anyone's age, including mine. I think that's totally legitimate,” Biden said in October.
“But the best way to make a judgment is to, you know, watch me. You know, am I slowing up? Do I not have the same pace? Or, you know, and that old joke, you know - everybody talks about the new, you know, 70s, 50s, you know all that stuff.”
“I do not want to jinx myself, I am in good health. All of my- everything physically about me is still functioning well, so you know, and mentally too, so,” the POTUS stated.
Internet reacts to Biden’s new gaffe
Biden’s latest gaffe has garnered immense social media attention, with several users speculating if he intentionally referred to Harris as ‘president.’
“We were wondering who's been running things!!!” one user said. “We know Old Joe isn‘t running the show,” a second user wrote.
“President Harris, now that's a scary thought!” a third user asserted referring to Harris' potential presidential candidacy.
“That's why she's laughing all the time,” a fourth user wondered while a fifth one asked “Who is this “President Harris” to which he keeps referring?”
“Why cut it? It looks like you are cutting the "vice" out. I hope not!” one more said.
