Biden gets slammed for saying Trump 'coddles terrorists', Twitter reminds him he opposed raid on bin Laden

Twitter said Biden had voted against Obama's decision to raid Osama bin Laden's hideout in 2011

A day after announcing his running mate, Democratic presumptive nominee Joe Biden appeared alongside his vice presidential pick Kamala Harris on Wednesday, August 12, at a high school in Wilmington, Delaware. During their appearance, Biden accused President Donald Trump of "coddling terrorists". This has made conservatives on social media remind the former VP that he opposed his former boss Barack Obama's decision to raid Osama bin Laden's hideout, back in 2011. The raid ultimately led to bin Laden's death.

"We're going to get to work fixing the work Trump and Pence have created, both at home and abroad, through four years of mismanagement and coddling terrorists and thugs around the world," Biden said. "The president is on track to break another record — he's on track to leave office with the worst jobs record of any president in American history."

Soon there was a torrent of tweets accusing Biden of falsely claiming untrue facts about Trump when the latter was the one who ordered a drone strike on January 3, 2020, against Iranian major general Qasem Soleimani. Here are a few of the posts that were trending on Twitter:

Harris also made a number of criticisms against Trump when she took the stage to make a speech. "America is crying out for leadership, yet we have a president who cares more about himself than the people who elected him," the California senator said. "A president who is making every challenge we face even more difficult to solve. The case against Donald Trump and Mike Pence is open and shut."
