BET Hip Hop Awards 2020: Did 'City Girls' JT and Yung Miami perform after 2.5 years? Fans say it 'melts heart'
To beat your pandemic blues, Black Entertainment Television is back with the 2020 Hip Hop Awards, on Wednesday, October 28, at 9 pm. You can catch the award show live on BET, BET Her, VH1 and MTV2. Viewers can also watch the ceremony on TV streaming services such as Sling TV, AT&T TV Now, Philo and YouTube TV.
The 15th annual award ceremony seemed like a star-studded event honoring some of the biggest hip hop artistes. Miamian band 'City Girls' hip hop duo Yung Miami and JT, who garnered a lot of attention when a guest appearance on Drake's chart-topping hit 'In My Feelings,' also performed during the awards ceremony after a hiatus of two-and-a-half years.
As soon as the performance started, people started reacting to it. One fan said, "Cristal and I have a real deal obsession with JT and Yung Miami. They are our friends in our head and we want to see them win." While another said, "Awee I teared up watching yung miami and JT perform together I know they been waiting so long. I remember yung miami performed all by her self when I went to lil baby concert and seeing her with her bestie on stage and all that energy melts my f**king heart I love it."

One JT fan said, "JT was really locked up for two years and performed better than Yung Miami. We can fix that though. I hope." Another complained and said, "#BETHipHopAwards2020 #hiphopawards #bet ok we are not together tho with this choreography. I'm conflicted in my feelings. I'm happy to see Yung Miami and JT performing together...but y is it so turnt down...like the tone of their voices is low."

In 2018, JT was held at FCI Tallahassee for credit card fraud charges and was sentenced to prison on June 29, 2018. She was slated to be released March 21, 2020. As she awaited her release, JT was transferred from FCI Tallahassee to a halfway house in Atlanta on October 8. To celebrate her release, JT released a track titled 'JT First Day Out'. In the song, she shouts out Yung Miami rapping, "I been a real bi**h way before the fed case/Yung Miami held me down, that's a bitch ace/And if a bi**h try her, it's a cold case."
