'Below Deck': Will Eddie Lucas fire Shane Coopersmith for confronting him about a joke? Fans bet it will be soon

Shane Coopersmith, as Bravo describes him, is "an intellectual with a degree" who is all for employing his environmentalist ideals to ensure that there's minimum waste going from charter to charter. He seems to be invested in this ideology, which explains why he was determined to replace the plastic straws at the bar with the recyclable ones he was carrying with him when he should really be learning tricks of the deck.

Bosun Eddie Lucas let him be at first but his antics began to get to him on day two itself. In a chat with Captain Lee Rosbach, he shared his assessment of Shane's performance and seemed to lean toward getting Isabelle 'Izzy' Wouters on board. Shane, unfortunately, is not aware of the calls the top tier crew members have been taking for him. He seems to be more focused on enjoying his time on the yacht, soaking up some sun and embracing all that nature has to offer. But jumping into the water without the uniform on or meditating when the rest of the crew has begun work will surely not help his case. But, he seems to be the kind who has his own rhythm and believes in following it no matter what.

In the latest episode, we see Shane and Eddie get into a verbal altercation after the latter cracks a joke that Shane doesn't have an appetite for. In the confessional, he says he will not be a "pushover" and is seen picking up the issue with Eddie, who straight out told him that if Shane couldn't handle a quip he should be joining a different crew. Will Eddie fire Shane for being a rebel? Time will tell.

Meanwhile, fans are of the opinion that Shane will be fired soon. "Shane is totally gonna get fired man. #BelowDeck," a user tweeted, while another commented: "Anyone want to bet how many more episodes Shane makes it before getting fired. I’m saying at the most 2 unless they get a good deckhand. #BelowDeck." Another vented:  "Shane is full of shit, the guests were into James, not Shane!! #BelowDeck. While a fourth added: "This Shane kid thinks He's on vacation. Ah No dude this a job. You're at work bro! #BelowDeck."
