Will 'Below Deck' crew member Sydney Zaruba get fired for hooking up with her boss Gary King in guest bedroom?
The Parsifal III was witness to a wild night courtesy of crew members who let their guard and pants down on their first night partying. Gary King hooked up or "slept in the same cabin" with deckhand Sydney Zaruba. They nuzzled, kissed and got in between the sheets while others watched. Later, they took their romfest to the guest bedroom. The whole thing reeks of repercussions and regrets, which they'll hopefully realize.
Before they took off their clothes and got down to business, Gary mentioned, in the drunken state no less, that what they were to embark on would strictly be a one-night stand and not a "seasonal fling". Sydney readily agreed but who knows how the thoughts will change the next morning.
From what the preview clip has offered, there's already friction between the two. They can either be adults and not let a hookup get in the way of their work, or be immature about it and fight through the season. How will they power through all of this?
The bigger question however is if Sydney will be fired for using the guest bedroom without seeking permission? The reason we are using Sydney's name here when Gary was equally involved is because usually men seem to escape such situations unhurt.
In 'Below Deck' Season 8, Elizabeth Frankini was fired by Chief Stewardess Francesca Rubi for having sex in the guest bedroom with James Hough, who was let go with a mild warning. Eddie Lucas told the both of them they can do better and that such mistakes can and should be avoided during charter seasons.
In Sydney and Gary's case, they are both in the same team and therefore, the after-affects of such an event are contained within the team. But that is not to say there won't be arguments and wild fights over this. The Season 2 trailer evidently pointed out that there's a love triangle in the making and Alli Dore gets thrown into mix. Let's hope things don't get too stormy between the three of them.
