'Below Deck': Captain Lee comes to Kate's defense as Ashton says she is not professional
The cast of 'Below Deck' got together to discuss what happens on the yacht and off the camera. While everyone was opening up about how it is to work on the yacht, Ashton Pienaar was asked if he thought that he delivered his duties properly. Ashton openly stated that he thought he was a better team leader than Kate Chastain.
During this season, Ashton received a lot of backlash for the way he was treating Rhylee Gerber. Fans thought that Ashton was delegating small tasks to her while giving all the big jobs to the boys on his team. Others thought that Ashton was talking rudely to Rhylee and should have treated her better.
However, during the reunion, Ashton was sure that he did not treat anyone wrong and added that he was better than Kate. Ashton justified his statement by saying that he had never asked someone to leave the room when he got angry with them, hinting at an incident that took place in the previous season.
He added that unlike Kate, he spoke to everyone with respect and revealed that he did not think she was professional. Kate was left surprised after hearing this and said the reason she decided to be harsh and honest with everyone is that she has worked in the charter business for a long time.
Kate explained that she decides to be blunt because she wants the work to be done on time. Hearing this, Captain Lee Rosbach decided to come to Kate's defense. He put forward his thought and said he did not think Kate was unprofessional. He added that she has years of experience in her hand as compared to Ashton.
Kate jumped in and added that she became a chief steward even when Ashton was not working on a yacht. Ashton was not happy to see that he was corned but it looks like Captain Lee subtly hinted who did a better job as chief steward.
