'Below Deck Mediterranean' has seen many people leave the show and the latest on that list is Hannah Ferrier. She became another crew member who will not be seen on the show anymore. Things got heated on the charter in the latest episode (August 17) of the show. Captain Sandy Yawn was put in an uncomfortable spot when she found out that Hannah had a marijuana pen and drugs for medical purposes with her.

She found out about the drugs after Malia White had sent her a picture. Captain Sandy knew that it was important to address this issue as she feared what might happen if she took off the charter while knowing that there are drugs on board. However, before making a decision, she wanted to find out the truth about why Hannah was carrying it in the first place. Captain Sandy called Hannah and asked her about the drugs she had on board. Hannah tried to explain that those were prescribed, but she did not have the prescription with her. Looking at the situation, Captain Sandy thought it was better to say goodbye to Hannah as she did not want to take a risk.

She was quick to add that having drugs on board could lead to her losing the license forever with the charter being incarcerated. Captain Sandy made it clear that she was not in a position to take this risk. At the same time, she told Hannah that she had her doubts if she would be fit to go forward in the season because of where she stood with her mental health.

Recalling her panic attacks, hyperventilating, anxiety attacks and other odd behavior, Captain Sandy thought that it may not be a good time to have Hannah on board. However, she tried to couch it by saying how she cared about Hannah as she had been part of the crew for a long time. Unfortunately, her words did not move Hannah.

Hannah did not think it was right for her to fired and admitted that she did not expect things to end on this note. Meanwhile, fans were not happy with how Captain Sandy handled the mental health situation. "Watching this episode, and the last... is kind of traumatic for viewers. The power tripping, the showboating (no pun intended), the mental health abuse from Sandy and Malia... it's horrific," read one comment.

Another wrote, "Sandy is catty, unprofessional, and just an overall horrible leader. Who argues with someone after firing them? Hannah didn’t give her the satisfaction, so she goes outside to take the drama up a notch. Have your moment, Sandy. You’re pathetic."

Some of them were not happy with how mental health issue was handled as the comment read, "Congratulations @BravoTV for making people with mental health issues out to be drug addicts. No longer watching #BelowDeck with Sandy." Another said, "I can’t believe captain sandy actually said, “what if she actually overdoses?” what a farce. It’s been a witch hunt from the day with these three stooges. Malia, Bugsy, and Sandy."
