'Below Deck': Bugsy posts about mental health, Angry Internet calls her 'disgusting' for being mean to Hannah

A fan wrote, 'It was pretty disgusting. Anyone that deals with depression and anxiety knows that pushing someone who deals with such an illness to the edge can’t really mess them up'

Ever since Hannah Ferrier was shown to suffer an episode of a panic attack on 'Below Deck Mediterranean,' the conversation around mental health has grown stronger. While viewers have expressed their sympathies with the chief stewardess, Malia White, and Christine 'Bugsy' Drake got called out for not being sensitive enough towards their co-worker.

Soon after this week's episode was aired, Bugsy shared a post detailing her experience battling mental health issues, which she had to take down after fans came in with a host of criticisms. And her current post explains why exactly she decided to delete the one where she bravely expressed a personal account.

"#mentalhealth is alive and real. I took my previous post down regarding MY actual story. I GOT SUPER BRAVE for a minute sharing my personal experience... and then the criticism came flying in regarding what was seen of me on a TV show," she wrote on Instagram and added that she is a "massive advocate" for mental health no matter what is shown on TV and asked viewers to be kind.

In this week's episode of 'Below Deck Mediterranean,' Bugsy and Malia discussed that Hannah wasn't sick (referencing to her panic attack and upset stomach) when she opted out of the crew's day-off trip at the beach. Instead, she didn't want to be around Bugsy because of their past differences. Meanwhile, fans called her out for painting contrasting pictures, with some pointing out that if she wishes people to be kind to her, she should have stood up for Hannah.

"Be kind @bugsydrake obviously you aren’t an advocate if you shame your castmates on TV. Women should support women. There was a better way of handling this situation, and you didn’t stand up," a fan commented on her Instagram post, while another wrote, "Well when it looks like you're an active participant in a conspiracy to get rid of the shaft and the Chief stew how are fans supposed to react the way that is playing out on TV it looks like the conspiracy theorists are actually correct."

"Well if you are such a strong advocate, then y’all wouldn’t be such mean girls on Hannah. It was pretty disgusting. Anyone that deals with depression and anxiety knows that pushing someone who deals with such an illness to the edge can’t really mess them up. Just disappointing to watch," a viewer shared.

"Then why can’t you be kind? I just watched you and @maliakpwhite bash @hannahferrier234 on WWHL for the second time this season. Not nice," another expressed.
