'Below Deck': Chef Rachel Hargrove being criticized for her plating skills, fans say 'need 50% more food'
Chef Rachel Hargrove knows her job well and is passionate about it. She makes it very evident in the way she meticulously puts everything together. For her keeping the kitchen organized and tidy is as important as serving finished meals that are not only delicious but appear appetizing as well. She enjoys drawing up the menu too.
But the guests have nitpicked her plating skills, so have the fans. One guest exclaimed that the crab couscous sat on his plate like a crescent moon and the viewers couldn't agreed. Some have even shared photos from this week's episode pointing out how much open space she leaves on her plates, and that they are too big for the portions she serves. "Rachel’s plating is a bit odd. I like my food in the center of the plate. And I probably need another 50% more food. #belowdeck," a fan commented, while another shared: "I think the plating is throwing the guests off. They look disappointed at first but once they actually try the food they love it #BelowDeck."

"Not crazy about her plating though. Sure her food is good but her plating #BelowDeck," a user noted, another expressed: "I hope her food tastes good, because her plating and now freaking out about moving food is leaving a bad taste in my mouth #BelowDeck."

"Okay love ya Rachel, but what’s with the off-to-the-side plating? It’s makes it look like there’s nothing on the plate #BelowDeck," a viewer tweeted.

Rachel feels passionate about her job and can be described as a food nerd, who simply enjoys the science behind food. "I’m a nerd. And I’m okay with it! I’ve embraced it since a long time ago, getting my school bus chair kicked by other kids. Certain things, if I get interested in it, I throw myself completely into it. I immerse myself in it. And I enjoy it," she told Decider in an interview recently. Here's hoping she is able to see that she needs to put more food on the plate unless of course that clashes with a certain culinary mandate.
