Speaking with Access Hollywood, the 'Property Brothers' star revealed that he was instantly smitten with Zooey when they first met. "It was love at first sight," Jonathan said. "She has this aura about her that is just irresistible."
The couple's romance began in the summer of 2019 while filming an episode of 'Carpool Karaoke.' Their connection was immediate, and it didn't take long for their relationship to blossom into something serious. By August 2023, they were engaged.
Jonathan couldn't help but gush about his fiancée at the event. "Zooey is an incredible person. She brings so much joy and light into my life," he shared. "From the moment we met, I knew she was special. She has this magnetic personality that draws people in, and I'm lucky to have her in my life."

Unlike Drew's grand wedding in Italy, which unexpectedly hosted 310 guests despite anticipating fewer, Jonathan and Zooey are aiming for a more personal affair. Jonathan explained, "Drew went insanely big, to the point where the resort couldn't handle the people." Drew admitted that the large guest count made the event overwhelming, expressing a desire for more personal moments.
Jonathan emphasized that he and Zooey are "not going big" and will have a "nice and intimate" celebration. He mentioned they haven't made any concrete plans yet because they're enjoying the planning process. Jonathan and Zooey met in the summer of 2019 while filming Carpool Karaoke, and they announced their engagement in August 2023.
