'Batwoman' co-star Meagan Tandy reveals Ruby Rose is 'doing really good' post-emergency surgery due to injury from stunts

Tandy revealed Rose, who plays the lead role in The CW show 'Batwoman', has been doing "pretty good" after undergoing surgery for an injury sustained while performing stunts for the show. Rose was forced to go under the knife after doctors found she was at risk of becoming paralyzed

It was recently revealed Ruby Rose, who is all set to take on the role of Kate Kane/Batwoman in The CW show 'Batwoman', had to undergo surgery after sustaining injuries while performing stunts for the show. The actor revealed in an Instagram post that she had to receive emergency surgery because she had two herniated discs that were close to severing her spinal cord and causing permanent paralysis.

We caught up with Rose's 'Batwoman' co-star Meagan Tandy, who is best known for playing Braeden on MTV's 'Teen Wolf', during the Regard Magazine and A Foundation For A Slavery Free World event. The actor, who will be playing Batwoman's ex-girlfriend Sophie Moore in the upcoming series, revealed some good news regarding Rose's current condition.

Speaking to MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) in a quick chat, Tandy said: "She's doing really good. I know that it was really tough at first because it was a major surgery. And so thankfully, she went through recovery and we were all there, watching her each and every day doing her thing and honestly, she's been doing pretty good, I'm very proud of her."

"I feel like most people would be like 'Man, forget it. I'm not working right now' but she's actually been doing really good," Tandy added. "She's like, 'That is not keeping me down' and it hasn't."

The news of Rose's surgery broke September 27 after the actor posted a timelapse video of the surgical procedure on her Instagram page. "To everyone asking about my new Pez dispenser scar on my neck," she captioned the video. "A couple of months ago I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed... I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord. I was in chronic pain and yet couldn’t feel my arms."

"Thank you, Dr Bray, for everything you did and for allowing me to keep working and doing what I love," Rose continued. "I am forever in your debt. And to anyone asking why I let them video it... Did you not watch that 'Grey's Anatomy' episode where they left a towel in a patient?? Also, I wanted to see what happens when we go under."

Thankfully, despite the huge risk, it looks like Rose is on the road to recovery and should be back to her usual self in no time. Her new show 'Batwoman' will be premiering on The CW October 6.
