A 36-year-old bodybuilder is facing life in prison after pleading no contest to severely beating and stabbing his girlfriend in a "roid rage" attack. Paul Bashi is facing sentencing despite the woman calling for the charges against him to be dropped.

Bashi reportedly is scheduled to be sentenced soon in Michigan for brutally attacking his 23-year-old girlfriend Kristina Perry. He pleaded no contest in September to attempted murder, torture, and illegally possessing steroids in the July 2018 attack, which left Perry in a coma.

According to authorities Bashi kicked his girlfriend over 100 times during the assault, which occurred in their home in Detroit. He reportedly also punched her 50 times, struck her with a chair and stabbed her two dozen times, according to the Daily Mail

A surveillance video of the incident captured graphic images of Bashi attacking Perry when she walked into the room just moments after he checked her phone. The video shows Bashi throwing some items at his girlfriend, including protein powder containers, and candles.

Bashi's defense attorneys have blamed the attack on the 36-year-old's steroid abuse and claimed that he hit Perry after flowing into a jealous rage.

Reports state that Perry was found bleeding by their neighbors outside their home. The bodybuilder was promptly arrested after authorities found him on a nearby road, covered in blood.

Perry, despite her horrific injuries, took the witness stand at the court during Bashi’s arraignment and pleaded for prosecutors to dismiss all the charges against him. She reportedly told the judge that the attack was her fault.

An investigation into the incident showed that Perry had multiple stab wounds on her body that had been inflicted over a period of time. The judge overseeing Bashi's case accepted his no-contest plea under advisement. The 36-year-old continues to remain in prison on a $5million bond.
