Remember when the First Lady Melania’s eerie expression from 2017 was made into a meme and how #FreeMelania became the hot topic of discussion on social media? For years her expression had us all wondering what in fact made the First Lady showcase such a reaction. The recently published tell-all ‘Melania & Me: The Rise & Fall of My Friendship With the First Lady’ has many startling details to reveal surrounding Trump’s wife, of which one talks about their son Barron Trump’s mischievousness, which ended up subjecting his mother to social media trolls.

The video clip from nearly four years, which was recorded during Franklin Graham’s speech on Inauguration Day shows Melania smiling at Trump when he turns around during the ceremony. The camera then zooms into her face, which soon showcases a grimace, after Trump returned to his original position. The majority of them dubbed Melania ‘hypocrite’ for quickly changing her expressions in her husband’s presence and questioned the First Lady’s true opinion of her husband.

In her latest book, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff has revealed that it wasn’t Trump but their son Barron who irked his mother. Wolkoff writes in her book, “Viewers of the footage assumed that she only smiled when Donald was watching, and as soon as his eyes were off her, she let her true contempt show. It wasn’t at all what had happened.”

Explaining the further details she has written that “Barron had kicked her in the ankle”, which made Melania frown. The author noted that Melania said it apparently “hurt”, but didn’t bother explaining it to the trolls when she was dragged on social media.

Wolkoff reportedly encouraged Melania to speak to the press about the true story, but the latter didn’t bother to put an end to the memes that were wildly circulating. She writes, “As her advisor, I suggested she set the record straight about the #FreeMelania frown. She said, ‘Who cares what they think? I don’t owe them an explanation.’ ‘They’ happened to be the American people.”

The tell-all has made a few more interesting revelations, including the one which claims that Melania sought help to watch Barron, despite “perpetuating a myth” that she never hired additional help.

Wolkoff writes, “Melania has perpetuated a myth that she never hired a nanny when Barron was young and that she waited to start her businesses until he went to school”. She went on to reveal that she had the help of the household staff and her “own mother” to watch her son.

The author has further added that the First Lady was never keen about socializing with other parents during the playdates, irrespective of efforts from other mothers to connect with her. “Melania’s playdates were his playdates. Melania didn’t sit around to watch the kids play. Nor did she entertain the mothers who arrived and wanted face time.”

Wolkoff has also taken a dig at Melania for encouraging one of Barron’s pranks despite propagating anti-bullying. She notes, “Melania told me a story about how Barron had secretly placed a recording device in the Lincoln Bedroom and timed it so that it made ghost moans and noises when a friend of his was in there. Melania thought it was so cute. ‘He’s so funny!’ she said.”
