Paris Hilton shares heartwarming tribute to grandfather Barron Hilton who died at 91, says his legacy will live on in her
Paris Hilton has paid a heartfelt tribute to her grandfather William Barron Hilton, in her own way. The hotel magnate died from natural causes at the age of 91.
The hotel heiress-turned-reality-TV-star-turned-DJ took to Twitter on September 20 to say what she felt of her grandfather's demise. "I am deeply saddened by the loss of my grandfather Barron Hilton," she wrote. "He was a legend, a visionary, brilliant, handsome, kind and lived a life full of accomplishment and adventure. Ever since I was a little girl I have looked up to him as a businessman."
"I feel so grateful to have had such an incredible mentor. I always wanted to make him proud. The last conversation we had a few days ago, I told him how much of an impact he had on my life. His spirit, heart, and legacy will live on in me," she continued.
It was reported in 2007 that Barron had left 97% of his massive fortune, which was estimated at $2.3 billion to charity, circumventing his heirs. He had said in the past that he had planned to donate the majority of his estate to the nonprofit foundation that was named after his father whose mission is to "relieve the suffering, the distressed and the destitute."
