Spoilers for 'Barkskins' Season 1 Episode 6 'The Wobble'

With its most violent and bloody episode yet, it looks like 'Barkskins' pretty much announced the beginning of a war in this cold, grey town of Wobik. "Seems like a war is brewing... #Barkskins," a fan tweeted.

As the search party for Rene Sel (Christian Cooke) and Father Gabriel (Domenic Di Rosa) finally locates them with the Iroquois, they begin planning a rescue operation, which gets botched up leading to a violent outburst. Claude Trepagny (David Thewlis), Captain Bouchard (David Wilmot) and the priests might have gone to rescue Sel and Father Gabriel but they don't know yet that they are quite underprepared. Director Daniel Attias did a great job with capturing this sequence as one after the other, men fell into the ground sacrificing everything. "Terrific directing in this fight/battle sequence ending with René chasing after the Indian. #Barkskins," tweeted a fan. Another added, "#Barkskins is simply one of the best shows on television. Beautifully photographed, strong characters, with many mysteries to be revealed."

At the same time, many fans think that the little secret exchange that Delphine and Melissande indulged in might have been a bad idea given how secrets usually have a tendency of ruining things for the worse for the party involved. "Why do people tell their secret???  That is going to come back and bite her. #Barkskins," tweeted a fan. The women on the show hide secrets that are revealed only in instalments. And while it may seem that these secrets are independent, they are not, since they will be strongly steering the men associated with these women.

And here is an easter egg that you might have missed in the episode. It goes beyond the show into the real world but only a true fan can make such revelations. "Trepagny was at the battle of the dunes... or as some say, the 1658 battle of Dunkirk. We first meet aneurin barnard in the dunkirk film... on the dunes. #barkskins."

Aneurin Barnard plays the role of Hamish Goames on 'Barkskins' and has become quite the fan favorite over the course of this season. "Oh ok I see it now! The 'may not be suitable for everyone' disclaimer at the beginning. It probably applies to people with extreme crushes on @aneurinBarnard who can't tolerate seeing bad things happen on screen #Barkskins," tweeted a fan. "I could watch a few dozen more hours of Hamish @aneurinBarnard," added another. It could be said that Hamish is the moral compass of the show as we follow him first with investigations and then with his attempts at easing tensions.

'Barkskins' airs on National Geographic on Mondays at 9/ 8c.
