George W Bush's daughter Barbara marries Craig Louis Coyne in an 'intimate' ceremony in Maine
Craig Louis Coyne is a screenwriter who has acted in the 2005 hit 'Jarhead', as well as independent films such as 'Look at Me' and 'The Snowtown Murders'
Barbara Bush, the 36-year-old daughter of former US President George W. Bush and his wife Laura, got married in a secretive and "intimate" ceremony at the family's estate in Maine on Sunday.
Barbara had kept her engagement to screenwriter and Vanderbilt graduate Craig Louis Coyne on the down low. A delighted and proud Bush walked his daughter down the aisle. Barbara looked absolutely stunning in a Vera Wang gown as her family watched on. The wedding comes around 6 months after her grandmother Barbara Bush died.
Barbara chose to pay tribute to her late grandmother, who passed away this April, by wearing a bracelet which George H.W. gave her as "something borrowed".
Among those present were Barbara’s grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush, 94; Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, who served as matron of honor; her aunt Dorothy “Doro” Bush Koch, who officiated.
Barbara's twin sister Jenna's daughters Mila and Poppy were the flower girls at the wedding; 3-year-old Poppy, who was also the ring bearer, totally stole the show.
As reported by Today, Jenna said, "Poppy realized that the box was empty so she ran to the front and she kept holding it open, like 'This is fake, this is fake. And at one point we were all praying and Poppy ran and almost tackled Barbara and gave her a huge hug". Jenna also shared that Barbara and Craig chose to get married in Maine as that is where Barbara's grandfather stays.

Jenna served as the matron of honor at her twin's wedding and said, "I'm crying 24 hours later. There were so many happy tears". In between tears, Jenna continued, "It was a very secret wedding, a little bit like my elusive sister. But also, just family in a place that means family love, and it was just beautiful."
In a very romantic gesture, Craig had proposed to Barbara in the same spot where her grandparents got engaged. Jenna and Barbara's late grandmother was honored at the reception as Jenna read out a letter which George H.W. had written to her many many years ago.
"I ended with a letter that my grandfather wrote to my grandmother because I searched all the romantics and Shakespeare just wasn't doing it. He was sitting right next to me as I read it," Jenna shared.
Jenna also took to Instagram to express her happiness and love for her sister. She posted a picture of herself embracing her sister and wrote, "Happy tears, heart exploding as I watched this beautiful girl get married in the place that means love and family. I'm so proud to be this beauty's sister."
Barbara's father George W Bush also took to Instagram to share an emotional post and posted a photograph of himself walking Barbara down the aisle. He wrote, "Barbara is named for a unique and strong woman - and rightly so because she is unique and strong. @laurawbush and I are so proud of our compassionate, daring, fierce, kind, intelligent, loving daughter. And we're thrilled to welcome Craig Coyne to our family".
Barbara and Craig met when they were set up on a blind date by friends and chose to confirm their relationship by New Year's Eve. As reported by People, Barbara said, "It's just been a very sweet romance. And we've been long-distance for most of it - he's been in LA and I've been in New York -but we've gotten to spend a lot of time together".
