Barack Obama says women 'indisputably' make better world leaders than 'old men' trying to hold on to positions of power

"I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything… living standards and outcomes," Barack Obama said at a private event on leadership in Singapore

Former President Barack Obama declared Monday, December 16, women are better leaders than men and that was the reason the world would be a better place if all the countries were run by females. Speaking at a private event in Singapore on leadership, the former POTUS, husband of Michelle Obama and father of Malia and Sasha Obama, said most of the diplomatic problems in the world came from old men, holding positions of power.

And while women have their own flaws, he argued they are “indisputably better" compared to men. “Now women, I just want you to know; you are not perfect, but what I can say pretty indisputably is that you’re better than us [men]. I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything… living standards and outcomes," he said, BBC reported

Barack, who served as the president from 2009 until 2017, said it was why it was important for political leaders to step aside at a certain point in their career when it was time. "If you look at the world and look at the problems it's usually old people, usually old men, not getting out of the way," he said. "It is important for political leaders to try and remind themselves that you are there to do a job, but you are not there for life, you are not there in order to prop up your own sense of self-importance or your own power."

He and Michelle have set up a foundation that champions the education of young girls around the world - an agenda that the former first lady was passionate about when her husband was serving in the Presidential office.
