In a new campaign video, Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama appeared together as she asked him about his relationship with Joe Biden. The video was released on Tuesday, September 8, on Harris’ YouTube page, the description of which read: “@Joe Biden's favorite things aren’t just aviators, ice cream, and Amtrak. Thanks, Mr President, for giving me the inside scoop on what it’s like to work with our next President.”

“So tell me about Joe and your relationship with Joe, and what do I need to know? Like what's the thing about the ice cream. He loves ice cream. Tell me about that,” the 55-year-old asked Obama as he appeared, virtually, first time with her after she was chosen as Biden’s running mate. “Well, listen, ice cream is big. Pasta with red sauce. He can go deep on that. He really does like those aviator glasses, he knows he looks good in ‘em,” Obama quipped before discussing more serious things.

Obama said: “But the main thing to know about Joe is that Joe has never lost his sense of why we do this, and we do it because of you know for him, memories of his family back in Scranton and then the people of Delaware that he represented, the folks on the Amtrak train he met each and every day... His focus is going to be how's that going to help those people who sent him there.”

To which Harris added, “I love that about him, too. You know folks want to be seen and Joe sees people through those aviator glasses and without them. He really does see people. It’s a very special thing about him.” The demanding nature of the campaign trail was also on the discussion table of the two leaders. They also talked about the brief time they share with people on the road and Harris’ campaign playlist that includes songs of Mary J Blige.

While concluding the video, Harris thanked Obama before sending best wishes to his wife Michelle. “I'm going to be doing everything I can and Michelle will be, too, to make sure that we have a good Election Day,” Obama added.

The YouTube account, where the video was uploaded, also stated, “Former Vice President Joe Biden is running for president to restore the soul of the nation. He believes it's time to remember who we are. We're Americans: tough and resilient. We choose hope over fear. Science over fiction. Truth over lies. And unity over division. We are the United States of America. And together, there is not a single thing we can't do.”

As soon as the video was up, people instantly started commenting on it with one writing, “Awesome stuff, bringing out the humanity. They are just people after all, good people!” “I wish the dems would let the world know Trump's plan to destroy social security. I love Obama!” said another one. The third user commented: “So refreshing to hear intelligent people speak!” While the fourth added, “He really is such a genuine and warm man. His integrity and sincerity is absolutely palpable. So grateful he exists. #thankyouBarack I’m a #BernieSanders gal, but I’m definitely voting #BidenHarris2020.”
