TikTok is not only about dancing, fitness, and fashion trends; it's also about new and trending recipes. A couple of years ago, you couldn’t scroll through TikTok without coming across whipped coffee, a viral hack that gives your instant coffee or espresso powder a flavor reminiscent of the honeycomb-like South Korean candy, Dalgona. Today, the buzz on #coffeetiktok is all about banana coffee.

This blended coffee trend seems to have started with TikToker Ellie Gervais, who posted a video attempting to recreate the drink after seeing it on a cafe menu. Soon after, others made videos trying it for themselves. All you need to make the trending concoction is two ingredients: frozen bananas and cold coffee.

How to make Banana Coffee?

To make the popular Banana Coffee, all you need are two frozen bananas and a cup of cold drip coffee. To start, you need to blend the frozen bananas and cold drip coffee together until they reach a smooth consistency. As the ripe bananas are sweeter, you don’t need to add any other sweetener to them. Also, you can substitute the cold drip coffee with a cup of cold brew concentrate as well. A user on Twitter wrote, "Made that banana coffee thing from TikTok & added some caramel drizzle & it's sooooo good."

If you want to improve the flavor of banana coffee, try adding a few simple ingredients like cocoa powder, vanilla essence, nut butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg. You can also include chocolate syrup if you prefer flavors with a chocolate undertone. Add a spoonful of hemp or chia seeds, a scoop of uncooked rolled oats, or both for more fiber.

'It's completely magical'

Many TikTok users expressed their opinions and views on Twitter. A user said, "Patty tried the banana coffee going viral on TikTok, and it's apparently magical." Another user wrote, "I dont wanna see one more damn banana or coffee TikTok until this madness stops." The third user wrote, "Dear friends~ you know that Korean banana coffee trend on TikTok? Here’s a cheaper much more delicious option."
