‘Baghdad Central’ is crime-thriller series set after the fall of Saddam Hussein and follows the lives of Iraqis during the war which began in 2003. The series comprises an ensemble cast and is adapted from the 2014 novel of the same name, penned by American author Elliott Colla. Here’s everything you need to know about ‘Baghdad Central’ ahead of its release.
Release date
‘Baghdad Central’ first premiered on February 9 on Channel 4, which is a free-to-air television network based in London. All the six one-hour long episodes are set to drop on Hulu on March 27 available to stream globally.
Plot
‘Baghdad Central’ follows a former Iraqi policeman called Muhsin al-Khafaji, who is determined to track down his missing daughter and to save the younger one who is suffering from a kidney ailment. In the process, he gets pushed into a risky pact as he gets arrested by the US Military.

Waleed Zuaiter
Waleed Zuaiter essays the lead character Muhsin al-Khafaji in ‘Baghdad Central’. He is known for his recurring role in Netflix’s 'Altered Carbon’. He has also served as a producer and co-starred in ‘Omar’ which was nominated for an Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards under Best Foreign Language category.
July Namir
July Namir is known for her roles in series such as ‘Collateral’ and ‘Homeland’. She will be seen playing the role of Khafaji’s daughter Mrouj in ‘Baghdad Central’
Bertie Carvel
Bertie Carvel plays Frank Temple in ‘Baghdad Central’. He is popularly known for his role as Jonathan Strange in ‘Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell’ and Simon in ‘Doctor Foster’.

Trailer
The official trailer for ‘Baghdad Central’ was released by Channel 4 on January 4. The one-minute-long video gives glimpses of the smoky remains of parts of Iraq, which had come under attack during the 2003 war. It also introduces the Iraqi policeman Muhsin al-Khafaji who in search of his missing daughter. The trailer comprises gripping scenes from the war and a few powerful dialogues full of hatred and despair directed at the US Military.
