Arrogant driver breaks 10 rules in less than 90 seconds while dropping child off at school

This arrogant driver was so determined to get the perfect spot to drop a child off at school that he appeared to break and flaunt TEN rules of the road in just 90 seconds - wreaking 'havoc'.

Shocking footage shows the silver Ford Focus parked on zigzags, on a corner and at a junction — on the WRONG side of the road outside a school in Bridgwater, Somerset, on Monday.

The brazen driver's shameless anctics force other frustrated road users into the path of oncoming traffic just to make a left turn around him.

A young child emerges from the car, followed by what appears to be his mother, who gets out of the car in the middle of the road as cars try to pass her.

The male driver then performs a shameless U-turn rigth in the centre of the busy junction as cars and lorries whizz by him, before driving back past the school and on his way.

Another parent, who asked to remain anonymous, spotted the audacious antics while waiting for his own son and filmed the flagrant disregard for other road users.

The 38-year-old claims he spotted the man driving on the wrong side of the road 'forcing people out of the way' at around 2.50pm outside St John and St Francis Church School.

The dad of three, from Bridgwater, Somerset, said: "I couldn't believe it. It's careless and dangerous driving. It scares the c**p out of me. He broke about ten rules of the Highway Code. It was just as the caretaker was opening the gates and luckily my little one hadn't been let out of school yet. What this clip doesn't show was he'd driven down the other side of the road before that and forced people out of the way.

"There were cars coming towards him and he didn't move over at all. I was sitting there waiting quietly and minding my own business while picking my child up. I saw him force his way down the other side then I thought 'there's something not right about that' so I started recording him. I was just going to quickly record it then send it to the police, but I ended up catching a lot more than I thought I was going to get.

"By the time he went it'd been ten minutes of forcing people out the way and causing havoc."

The fellow parent questions how much is being done to enforce parking laws in the area and hold poor drivers to account.

While cones have been placed in certain areas, he believes this isn't enough and fears a serious accident.

The haulage company worker said: "The mum and her child got out after they eventually stopped on the corner and zigzags. Then the chap in there did all his manoeuvres, went down the road then parked in front of the school entrance. The one thing that gets me is the way he was moving. He wasn't even looking around to see what was behind him. Especially when it's right outside a school as well. He wasn't paying any attention - if there was a kid right behind him it could have been a lot worse.

"I think when it comes to the school run people just disregard all the rules of the road. That bit of the road he actually reverses back along is a main road which a 20mph limit. Just back from that junction is the zebra crossing that kids use. If he'd carried on going he could have caused loads of problems. There's problems opposite the zigzags and they cover it with police cones, however people usually just park there anyway. Where I'm parked is where the cones are from there onwards. Normally you get people parking in front of me on those."

After the video was posted online, horrified motorists have joined the concerned dad in urging police to take action.

One social media user claimed the school regularly sent out newsletters asking drivers to be careful.

The anonymous driver said: "Most people were just ignoring it all together like they'd seen it before. I've reported it to the police and it's gone absolutely nowhere. I had a email asking me to upload the video on the online service [for reporting motoring crime], but because the video does not have time and date on it they cannot except it."

Avon and Somerset Police have 'increased patrols' near the school to tackle 'anti-social driving'.

A spokesperson for the police force said: “We are aware of the video and are looking into the matter.

"We have increased patrols in the area following concerns raised in the community over anti-social driving and parking.”

Highway Code rules that the driver appears to flaunt:
