'Backstreet Rookie' Episode 10 will see Dae-hyun drown his heartbreak with alcohol in Saet-byul's company
At the end of episode 9 of 'Backstreet Rookie', Yeon-joo (Han Sun-hwa) told Dae-hyun (Ji Chang-wook) that he should meet someone who is suitable for him (read his class, his social standing) and dumped him after asking him out on a dinner date. Dae-hyun is of course unable to comprehend why Yeon-joo would suddenly end things between them as Saet-byul (Kim Yoo-jung) couldn't have been the sole reason for their relationship to meet its end. So, in the end of episode promo, we see Dae-hyun attempt to reach Yeon-joo at her home the next day but what awaits him is the shocking truth about his father's new job.
Previously, when Dae-hyun's father had informed his family that he had got a job, he hadn't expanded on what his job was and instead went ahead with detailing it as client service. The fact that he is the driver for Yeon-joo's family is something that Dae-hyun learns after arriving at her place and from the look on his face, it is clear that this truth is not going to go down too well with Dae-hyun. Will he learn about his mother being approached in the guise of signing up for insurance as well? Will this show Dae-hyun the truth about his ex-girlfriend's family or will he continue to mope for Yeon-joo?
These questions will be explored in the upcoming episode. The promo also shows Dae-hyun, who looks devastated, drowning his misery in alcohol as he is seen sitting at some beach. As we assume that he is alone, we hear Saet-byul's voice and she asks Dae-hyun if he knows since when she had begun liking him. She is there to lift his spirits after having heard about his break up from his friend, but the conversation points at Saet-byul and Dae-hyun's relationship headed for an altogether different direction.
The promo also indicates that Saet-byul is yet again homeless after she gets chased out of her friend Kang Ji-wook's house by his manager. Ji-wook is a popular actor and celebrity and for a young girl to be staying at an actor's residence will only lead to gossip getting printed about the actor and his image being spoiled. His agency would obviously not allow the same, and that's why Saet-byul decides to leave and where she is headed is something that we would see in the upcoming episode.
