'Bachelor in Paradise' season 6, episode 9: Nicole trash-talking and body-shaming Angela screams insecurity issues
While we might have expected Monday night's episode of 'Bachelor in Paradise' to be a slow show, we were all proved wrong as we witnessed ample confrontations, new contestants and unexpected exits from Paradise.
Apart from the surplus amount of drama, we also got to see a lot of insecurities emerge in 'Bachelor in Paradise' season six, episode nine. These were showcased mostly by Nicole Lopez-Alvar, who is now clearly courting trouble in Paradise after Angela Amezcua's entry.
From the premiere, Nicole has always had a steady relationship with Clay Harbor, even though Jordan Kimball and Christian Estrada pursued her for a brief amount of time. She was always known as the queen of paradise, because of all the men wanting to pursue her. She, however, didn't know how much jealousy and insecurity Clay felt when she was with other men until Angela came into the picture.

Ever since Christian and Jordan's elimination, we've seen Clay and Nicole become a couple totally in love. However, the tables turned when Angela made her entry during Krystal Nielson and Chris Randone’s (Goose) wedding. Her revenge body entrance made Clay's past emotions for Angela come up to the surface again.
He was clearly still hung up on her during their conversation at the after-party and Nicole was finally starting to feel the heat. Things quickly go overboard when she starts to body shame Angela and behave like a kid.
If you thought Angela's entry was surprising, you'll be even more surprised to know that she has no interest in pursuing Clay again, and has her eyes set on other men in Paradise, or so she claims. Angela ends up taking Clay for a walk but goes on a date with Mike Johnson. Nicole decides to take matters in her own hands and has a talk with Angela.
"I am boyfriend-girlfriend with Clay," a really childish Nicole tells Angela who assures her she is not here to ruin relationships. But Nicole doesn't stop there, she goes overboard with jealousy and trash talks Angela and body shames her too. She talks about how she is too skinny and doesn't have any Cuban meat on her.
"She’s the desperate one, the crazy one, the one that has ulterior motives, I don't know why she's here. She's weak, literally, she’s like 1 pound, she has no body mass, she needs some Cuban meat on her bones," a clearly insecure Nicole shares.
Her hatred toward Angela clearly portrays the jealousy and insecurity she has. Though her sudden lash-out might have been in the spur of the moment, it was harsh and Angela didn't deserve it. She deserves to find love just like Clay deserved it, and if he is still hung up on her, it isn't Angela's fault and it is high time Nicole realizes that.
Fans can't help but seem to agree. Taking to Twitter a fan said, "It was a little harsh but it was the jealousy talking... Angela is a smoke show & it must have been intimidating/scary to see her there... Angela does seem like a good person. She deserves to find love too. Not fair to fault her for being there."
"Nicole's insecurity is showing big time and Clay being upset about the possibility of Angela dating one of his friends is so telling... and very entertaining for me." wrote another fan.
Another fan added, "Nicole if you're secure with yourself and your relationship, you don’t have to worry about Angela. #BachelorInParadise."
