'Bachelor in Paradise' faces backlash from homophobic fans after series brings in Demi's girlfriend Kristian

Though most fans and viewers have shared their love and support for Demi and Kristian's relationship, there are a few Bachelor Nation fans who do not ship the couple.

Tuesday night's episode of 'Bachelor in Paradise' season 6 had quite a few surprises for us, and the one that stood out was the entrance of Demi Burnett's girlfriend from back home. Ever since the series premiered, we have been waiting with bated breath to see who Demi was hung up on even though she was pursuing a relationship with Derek.

Over the last two episodes, we saw the fun-loving Demi growong more and more despondent and doubtful about her time on paradise knowing that she couldn't give her all as she didn't have her girlfriend here. She had already shared during the premiere that she was coming to paradise to find her self and find out what she wants, and not having her girlfriend from back home just made things worse, as even though she was trying to pursue a true relationship with Derek, she couldn't stop thinking about Kristian Haggerty.

On Monday night's episode, we saw Demi walk up to Chris Harrison and have a conversation with him. While the rest of the group thought that she was leaving paradise, and Demi was almost on the verge of doing so because she knew the love she wanted wasn't in paradise.

Tuesday evening when the series aired with a new episode, we saw Chris surprise Demi by bringing in Kristian to paradise and help her find love.

The second Demi saw Kristian she ran into her arms and the couple rekindled their relationship by hugging and kissing each other. Though Demi had gotten what she wanted, she knew it was time to tell Derek that it was over. Though Derek was aware of Demi's feelings for Kristian, he had no idea that she would appear in paradise.

As hurt as he was, Derek was still supportive of her relationship and her feelings for Kristian and shared that he just wanted her to be happy and find love. This is reportedly the first time that Bachelor in Paradise has featured a same-sex couple. And with the show growing more progressive each day, we wish that fans and viewers would be the same.

Though most fans and viewers have shared their love and support for Demi and Kristian's relationship, there are a few Bachelor Nation fans who do not ship the couple, and their homophobia is pretty much jumped out.

Taking to Twitter, a fan wrote, "To each their own, but just can’t relate to the lesbian relationship on #BachelorInParadise. Prefer to watch heterosexual relationships evolve on the show. #Uncomfortable."

Adding to that another fan said, "Homosexuality is a sin and needs to be looked at like it is! A sin and a mental problem! We don't care and don't want to see it. ABC you are now boycotted. We already have this thrown in our faces and now a double standard. Makes me laugh."

"Yes Lord! This is so not okay! I’ve said it before, deception is not okay no matter your sexuality!" wrote another fan.
