Baby dies after being exposed to nicotine vaping liquid making experts question safety of e-cigarettes

The Victorian Coroner's office confirmed the death due to liquid nicotine exposure, but didn't reveal any details about it
UPDATED FEB 7, 2019

The death of a baby who was exposed to toxic levels of liquid nicotine has triggered calls for strict regulations on electronic cigarettes by leading anti-tobacco and nicotine experts in Australia.

The death of the child, who was exposed to life-threatening levels of liquid nicotine used in an e-cigarette, is currently being investigated by the Victorian Coroner's office, Daily Mail reports.

According to the coroner, it only takes one milliliter of liquid nicotine concentrate to kill a child if it is in inhaled, ingested, or even splashed in their eyes. (iStock)
