'B Positive' Episode 5 Spoilers: Why is Drew downloading a new tracking app to keep an eye on Gina?

Gina's recklessness sees Drew going to extreme lengths to keep track of her

Gina (Annaleigh Ashford) is not the most trustworthy of people. There's a reason that she's moved into Drew's (Thomas Middleditch) home and it's not just because she's giving him her kidney in three to four weeks. Drew's decided to put up with her giant dog, her less than legal brewery, her strange TikTok videos and even stranger beliefs about dishwashing all because he knows the trouble that Gina can get in to and in the next episode of 'B Positive', Drew's paranoia gets the better of him and he decides to start keeping track of Gina without her permission.

In all fairness to Drew, one of the reasons that Gina is living with him is because she owes money to some very dangerous people and she is very much afraid for her life. The new app that Drew downloads to keep track of her might just be the thing that saves her if her criminal contacts ever actually get a hold of her. On the other hand, Drew is probably not being all that altruistic in his decision to track Gina. It's far more likely that he's just worried that she's going to be drinking again or doing drugs, both things that Gina's been told to avoid in the lead-up to Drew's surgery.

Drew is already starting to grow worse as his kidney fails. He's been on dialysis for weeks. He's naturally worried about any extension to the date of his surgery and if Gina drinks or does drugs even once, that's another three weeks he's going to have to wait. If there's one thing he knows about Gina, it's that impulse control is not one of her many strengths. Maybe keeping track of her is best for all concerned, although the fact that he does it without her knowledge is something that is deeply creepy no matter what his reasoning is.

The official synopsis for this episode titled 'High Risk Factor', reads, "Drew downloads a tracking app to keep an eye on Gina after he begins getting concerned about her reckless behavior."

This episode of 'B Positive' airs on CBS at 8.30 pm ET on December 17.
