Who can forget that beautiful moment in 'Avengers: Endgame' when Captain America / Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) lifted Thor's hammer Mjolnir? In a movie filled with perfectly crafted moments, that was probably one of the top three scenes that people still remember and talk about, a year after the film's release.

The epic scene confirmed speculation that was running rampant since 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' that Cap can lift the magical hammer. Now while answering a fan's question on Twitter, the Russo Brothers have talked about when they told Evans about the scene and how he reacted to it.

"It was early in development when we let him know he was going to pick up the hammer… needless to say he was psyched," they wrote on Twitter. "The crew on these films are filled with comic book lovers, so you can guess how excited everyone was the day we filmed this."

Those who watched the movie in theaters would recall the global reaction to that scene. In most theaters, fans cheered, whooped and clapped for sheer joy at seeing that brilliant moment come to life. A number of fans have now reacted to the Russos' tweet saying just as much.

"It's one of my favorite moments," one fan commented. "I think I shouted out loud in the theater when it happened."

Another fan tweeted, "That first shot, of the subtle lifting of the hammer was when I knew what was happening. I started yelling with joy!"

Yet another fan wrote, "And the way it was shot! The hammer slowly levitating and hitting Thanos from behind and WHO HAS IT?! Perfection."

Not only was the scene important for its sheer coolness from a narrative point of view, but it also brought Steve's story to its absolute zenith. As Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) points out in the first 'Avengers' movie, Steve always believed there was nothing particularly special about him since his powers came from an experiment and not his own merits.

For a man who was always worried he would be nothing more than a lab rat or a circus monkey, this moment when he was found worthy of the power of the gods was the final confirmation that with or without the Super-Soldier Serum, Steve Rogers is a hero. And what better way to show it than through such a brilliant scene?
