'Avatar 2' trends, leaves miffed 'The Last Airbender' fans wanting Aang: 'Don't care about blue aliens'
'Avatar: The Last Airbender' fans were excited when they found 'Avatar 2' was trending on Twitter. Unfortunately, they weren't pleased when they realized it wasn't for the show. Instead, it was related to the big build-up to James Cameron's epic sequel to the first film, which was the highest-grossing film in Hollywood till 'Avengers: Endgame' unseated it from its throne. Nevertheless, fans of the animated show tweeted that they couldn't care less about the sequel, and the next time 'Avatar' trends, "it better be for the sequel".
Netflix had brought much joy to fans when it released the show on the platform, as fans began to relive the good old days again. There's good news for fans because Netflix has signed Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko to develop a live-action series based on 'The Last Airbender'. This is a crucial step for the creative team that had wanted to work on the live version of the story. "We're thrilled for the opportunity to helm this live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. We can't wait to realize Aang's world as cinematically as we always imagined it to be, and with a culturally appropriate, non-whitewashed cast.
