A chilling audio clip has revealed a threat that a plane will be flown into the US Capitol as Congress meets with President-elect Joe Biden to confirm his win as the next POTUS. The audio file was revealed on Tuesday, January 5. Many air traffic controllers in New York received the message via restricted channels on January 4 and it said, "We are flying a plane into the Capitol Wednesday. Soleimani will be avenged."

The digitized voice recording was obtained by CBS News and is in reference to Iranian major Qasem Soleimani who had been assassinated in a US drone attack that had taken place last year on orders of current POTUS Donald Trump. The voice warned that there would be a strike on the Capitol on the same day that the Congress is set to count the electoral votes that would make Biden's victory final and official. Even though the threat is not considerable, it does pave way for concerns over how vulnerable US airspace communications are to hacking.

The authorities are currently investigating the matter as a breach of aviation frequencies and the threat would be considered a crime. Besides, the disruption has left experts worried as to how it can affect the instructions that pilots receive on where and how to fly airplanes, as per CBS. Sources shared that air traffic controllers have been told to report any suspicious activity which includes planes deviating from their flight paths.

Soleimani was killed on January 3, 2020, and he belonged to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. A few days later, Trump had said, "You look over this past, he’s been called a monster and he was a monster and he's no longer a monster — he's dead." Iranian officials have vowed that they will avenge the death of Soleimani. According to Al Jazeera, Iran asked Interpol to put out a "red notice" for law enforcement agencies worldwide to arrest Trump and also kill the two dozen American officials who were behind the drone strike.

Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is very seriously following up on pursuing and punishing those who ordered and executed this crime."

We had earlier reported that Iran condemned Trump as an ''imbecile" and hinted that "revenge" for the late general could come from "inside" the United States. According to an NBC analyst, the warning came from the chief of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force as well as Soleimani's replacement, Esmail Qaani, on January 1. "For 30 years, you sought to assassinate our leaders Soleimani and (al-Muhandis), and an imbecile backed by the Zionists and the House of Saud committed this heinous crime," he said.

"This criminal assassination (of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis) opened the door for the free sons of our Muslim nation to take revenge." Qaani warned that it was "possible that there are people inside your home (the United States) that will respond to your crime". The judiciary chief for Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, said the people responsible for Soleimani's death will "not be safe on Earth", France24 reported.
