'Bachelor in Paradise' stars Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon are officially engaged. The reality TV star popped the question in Mexico during the upcoming fifth season of the show 'Bachelor in Paradise'. The couple has chosen to get engaged only a month after they confirmed that they were dating.

As reported by People, a photograph of Jared getting down on one knee was more than enough to know what was going on. The location of the proposal seems totally apt considering that fans and followers have watched their romance unfold over season two and season three of the show. From day one of when they met in the year 2015, Ashley was sure that Jared was the one though it took Jared a little while longer to realize his true feelings.

Shortly after the news of the engagement broke, Ashley broke her silence by expressing her happiness via social media. She took to Twitter to write, "I didn't even tell me grandma yet..." adding a diamond ring emoji.

Many viewers will remember how Ashley had to pursue Jared and they watched as she cried over him over season one and two. During iHeartRadio's The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast, Ashley told Ben Higgins, "He is my person. He is my soulmate."

The pair went on to date during season one of the show but Jared dumped her. Despite this, the pair managed to remain friends and also had on and off flings in the fall. In a YouTube video of their love story, The Story of Us, Jared said, "I never felt like it was over between us after Paradise, which is why I said we're still going to be friends. Like, it just didn't feel over."

Jared went on to appear on 'Bachelor in Paradise Australia' and Ashley starred in another spin-off called Bachelor Winter Games where she developed a romance with another contestant, Kevin Wendt. When Kevin and Ashley split up, Jared decided to pursue her through a love letter. The gesture won over Ashley's heart and the couple announced in May that they were dating.

The relationship of Ashley and Jared has been anything but smooth sailing and the couple has had their fair share of drama. Ashley shared with Ben Higgins that "there was no crossover" and she "never cheated on Kevin or anything like that". She admitted that she and Jared did talk about his feelings before 'Bachelor Winter Games' aired.

Ashley and Jared went on a group trip to St Lucia with fellow 'Bachelor In Paradise' couple Tanner Tolbert and Jade Roper. After consulting Tanner, Jared even confessed his feelings to Ashley and proceeded to give her a kiss at the airport. However, she chose to keep seeing Kevin.

When Kevin and Ashley broke up a while later, Jared tried to pursue her again through a love letter and the couple got together. "In a way, he was harboring feelings for awhile, but he didn't want to come out with them until he was 100 percent. Honestly, he kind of said he needed an earthquake and, like, he got his earthquake. Then, he told me and then he's been like super happy and amazing. Like, he was in such this dark place for awhile and now he's just like a mush ball in the best way, and he's, like, so full of love," Ashley shared with Ben Higgins.

Jared appeared on an interview with Bachelor alumni Dean Unglert and Vanessa Grimaldi on 'Help! I Suck at Dating' where he admitted that he was a "very closed off human being for a long time" and realized that he was making a huge mistake by not being with Ashley. "I know, I don't want to speak for Ashley, but like, obviously we've talked about it and we see this as, you know, it for us, so to speak. Life partner, love, marriage, kids, the whole—I mean I hope so," he added.

As reported by Life& Style, 29-year-old Jared shared, "We both think we've found 'the one'. We love each other. We're in love. We've made it." It is believed that the couple is already discussing their wedding and whether they would want it to be televised or not.

"I've thought about it. You don't think I've thought about it? Of course. I mean, it depends on the circumstances," Ashley admitted. They have even discussed who should officiate the wedding, with BiP co-star Tanner Tolbert turning out to be a front-runner.

"Tanner is our fairy godfather. He's been there every step of the way, and has really pushed this relationship," Jared shared.
