Arthur Gunn and a couple of other Season 18 contestants performed on the second chance episode on 'American Idol' on Monday night (April 19) for a chance to make a comeback on the show. A total of 10 artists were invited to the show to give them another shot at the title and while most of them made an impact, it was Gunn who stood out the most for both the judges as well as the audiences watching from home.

Last year, Gunn had made it to the very top, however, America chose Just Sam as their winner and the former ended up with the runner-up title. However, after his latest performance where he put his own spin on the Goo Goo Dolls classic, 'Iris', audiences are sure that they want to see him back in the competition and that he deserves to win it all.

'American Idol' Spoilers: Arthur Gunn to Makayla Phillips, full list of Season 18 singers returning on Season 19

Who is Arthur Gunn?

Known by his stage name, Arthur Gunn is a Nepalese-American singer-songwriter from Wichita, Kansas, who was the first runner-up of the shot at home Season 18. After his audition, where he sang 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' by Creedence, Luke Bryan asked if he would like to open a concert for him. "You want to open for me in Detroit, Mich., in two weeks?" he said in a joking yet firm manner.

Last year, a lot of the audience members were of the opinion that Just Sam won because the subway singer had a better "sob story". This year, a lot of audiences were of the opinion that Season 18 contestants didn't deserve a comeback and branded the show's decision as 'unfair', but watching Gunn perform in the recent episode it wouldn't be wrong to assume that he's about to rake in all the votes and will most definitely be the one joining Season 19.

"Love his unique voice!! He deserves a record deal !!why hasn’t he been sighted yet?? His a rare gem!!" a fan wrote in the comments of his performance video uploaded to Idol's official YouTube channel. "This is definitely the best of the comeback performances so far. He’s great," wrote another. "The best comeback and the best decision American Idol ever made, this would be the case if he got chosen and wins the competition. Lets go!!" another comment read. While another fan wrote, "THE ONLY COMEBACK ARTIST WE NEED."
