LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Former UFC Octagon Girl Brittney Palmer, who graced the cover of Playboy magazine, has found success as a pop artist outside of the spotlight, earning her tens of thousands of dollars. Palmer opted to pursue a career in art after having her ambitions of being a dancer crushed by a car accident that left her unable to walk independently for three months.

Palmer was met with the accident at the age of 21, and was left with fractured pelvis in three places. She chose to paint to pass the time because the healing period was significantly long, and over time she developed her own unique style. Palmer said, "I would listen to Jimi Hendrix and paint his portrait over and over and over. I fell in love with it and kept getting better," as reported by MonsterEnergy. She moved to Los Angeles to attend university and be a part of the vibrant arts community after being hooked on painting and studying her craft. Palmer studied classical portraiture at UCLA and attended Brentwood Art Center. Her pieces sell for more than $25,000 each. "A lot of UFC fighters have actually commissioned me to paint for them. And their wives! And the list keeps going!," Palmer stated.

Pop culture is a major theme in Palmer's works, which feature vivid portraits of famous people including Marilyn Monroe, Bob Dylan, and John Lennon. She has displayed her artwork all over the world in galleries from Miami to Milan, and Reebok has even hired her in the past to design clothing for the UFC's International Fight Week.

"There is this preconceived notion that you have to look a certain way or be a certain way. Or be a certain kind of sad. But I always mastered it from a marketing point. And being able to market myself and who says you look this way and do this? If you have a talent for it, show it!" Palmer stated in reference to her reputation as an attractive model who broke into the art world.

Palmer has won numerous honors for her work as a UFC Octagon girl, including Ringcard Girl of the Year at the World MMA Awards (2012, 2013, and 2020). She is a model who has posed on the covers of Maxim and Playboy and is the face of many charities all over the world.

After spending 11 years living in Los Angeles, Palmer moved back to Las Vegas to start a new painting studio. She said, "I was in LA for about eleven years and did about everything I thought that I came out to do. I left on my own volition; you know some people get kicked out of LA. Or they just couldn't hack it."

"I could hack it, but LA just came to a point where it became very dodgy. It just became this never-ending cycle of fear and I just wanted to go back to Vegas," Palmer stated. Palmer is now focused on building after-school painting programs for kids in addition to continuing her charity work as an artist ambassador for UNICEF, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith's Janie's Fund, Generation Cure, and Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation.
